The “JuJu Fever” in Boulder keeps burning! While Julian Lewis hasn’t officially announced his decision yet, the excitement surrounding his potential arrival in Boulder hasn’t cooled down one bit! The city rolled out the red carpet for the five-star QB recruit with chants of “We Want JuJu,” personalized welcome signs everywhere, and even a special “JuJu Burger” created in his honor.

Even Deion Sanders’ quarterback son Shedeur playfully welcomed Lewis as the future QB1 of the Buffs with a poster depicting him “handing over the keys.” Now, things are getting easier for Coach Prime. His new 2025 four-star offensive lineman is also helping the Buffaloes secure the coveted QB.

OL Chauncey Gooden isn’t waiting to secure his future quarterback. He took to his X handle to post a poster of him and Julian Lewis on the “CU Buffs throne.” He captioned the poster, “I NEED MY QB1 LETS BE LEGENDARY,” and tagged Lewis.

Now, Gooden himself is a star in the making. With over 15 offers and a jaw-dropping performance at the Under Armour camp, he brings serious talent. Soon after Lewis’ fancy visit, he solidified his commitment to the Buffs on June 24 with a strong “LETS DO IT!!!!! 1000000% COMMITED” post.

While many are vying for Lewis’ commitment, what better way to convince him than a fellow top recruit painting a picture of a dominant offense together? Even Deion Sanders is prioritizing building a powerhouse offense for next year with this OL-QB duo.

Julian Lewis is the missing piece in the Buffs’ offensive puzzle

Deion Sanders‘ team isn’t messing around when it comes to recruiting. While five-star QB Julian Lewis is the biggest name, Chauncey Gooden is the first major recruit to officially join the Buffs. But Gooden isn’t alone – massive 6-foot-8 offensive tackle Jay Gardenhire recently committed too, stating on social media, “Colorado recruited me like I was a top priority.”

Now, one concern for Lewis might be Deion’s record. Last season, the Buffs finished a mediocre 4-8, and QB Shedeur Sanders suffered a league-high 52 sacks. This exposed a glaring weakness in the offensive line. To address this, Deion brought in hulking offensive linemen like Payton Kirkland and Ethan Boyd, most averaging over 6.5 feet tall and 339 lbs. With a revamped offensive line, Deion is also building for the future with Gooden and Gardenhire similarly. Now, Lewis is the only missing piece in the 2025 offense.

With a solid offensive line in place, Deion might just convince him to flip his commitment from USC and join this promising Buffaloes squad.
