Coach Deion Sanders is known for his unorthodox methods. One of the most famous ones was bringing Instagram influencer Brittany Renner to persuade the players at Jackson State University. Well, the move may look unorthodox, but Sanders has his reasons behind it. And in a recent interview, Coach Prime shed some light on the matter.

It turns out Sanders’ reason to bring Renner in for a talk has something to do with the coach’s divorces. But how could an Instagram influencer be related to all that?

Why did Deion Sanders bring an Instagram influencer?

Deion Sanders revealed the reason for bringing Brittany Renner to talk to his players at JSU during a ‘Club Shay Shay’ episode. Talking with another legend of the NFL Shannon Sharpe, he said that bringing her in was unbelievable.

“Brittany is a real woman. She keeps it one hundred. She keeps it straightforward, and she is a tremendous influencer on Instagram. To bring her in to talk about the game from a woman’s point of view was unbelievable,” Sanders said.

Coach Prime then joked about his own divorces and said if he had the information Renner gave the players when he was young, he would be $15 million richer.

“Had I had Brittany Renner in a meeting when I was in college, I might be $15 million richer,” Sanders added.

Renner gave a talk to the JSU players about the hazards of being an elite athlete last year.

“You want to make it to the NFL, but there’s a lot that comes with it. To be able to decipher who really loves you for you is the billion-dollar question,” Renner said to the players, according to TMZ.

Sanders has now left JSU for the University of Colorado but his lessons through Renner will live on with his players forever. But who exactly is Renner?

Who is Brittany Renner?

Mississippi-native Brittany Renner is an Instagram influencer and fitness model. She has a huge following on Instagram with more than 4.7 million followers.

A Jackson State alumnus herself, Renner was an athlete during her college days. She used to play soccer and, in fact, won the SWAC Championship with the Tigers in 2010. The model has always been open about her personal life.

Renner went viral with a fitness video in 2013 and has since enjoyed fame and everything that comes with it. So, she was indeed the perfect person to speak to the JSU players about how to handle fame. Coach Prime does know how to use the resources in his hand.
