Florida State University and its fans are in shock right now. The team has had an impressive run this season, getting 13 wins on the trot! However, there lies a glaring question- the College Selection Playoff Committee snubbed the team at the last moment!

The CFP instead decided to go ahead with Michigan, Washington, Texas, and Alabama teams. The snub wasn’t met with great reception from QB Jordan Travis, who many believe has single-handedly dragged his team to all the wins. Many are crediting the snub to Travis’ injury. Now, Paul Finebaum has brushed off the unjust treatment with his recent explosive comments.

Paul Finebaum was asked the viral question going around regarding the FSU’s snub from the final playoffs list on the ESPN College Football talk show. This came under great speculation since the Seminoles won all the games throughout the season, taking their overall record to 13-0 in 2023.

He shared his comments on the recent episode with his reasoning. “I’m glad this committee didn’t buy it and I don’t think they would as midnight struck last night. Because Florida State and Louisville was a painful game to watch. As opposed to where I was yesterday, watching two heavy-weights.”

Finebaum singled out that there was nothing impressive about how FSU played. He shrugged off any claims about the CFP not going ahead with the Seminoles. These comments came in after the FSU’s star player Jordan Travis expressed dissatisfaction with the snub.

There’s a growing murmur in the NCAA that the CFP left the Seminoles behind due to Travis’ injury and hence chose the other three teams instead. He took to platform X and highlighted that it’d been great if he could’ve injured himself earlier during the season. So the world could see how strong the team still was and the things could’ve been way different.

As per the CFP Selection Chair Boo Corrigan, Florida State was a “different team than they were in the first 11 weeks. You can lose a running back, you can lose a receiver. Still, when you lose a quarterback as dynamic as Jordan Travis, it changes their offense in its entirety and that was a really big factor,” quoted Corrigan as he highlighted the reason for leaving out Seminoles from the playoffs list.
