After several panelists and former players highlighted their defense as alarming, a Pro NFL HOF has given his opinions on the hapless side as they continue to lose important matches. OJ Simpson, the USC legend, weighed in on the recent turn of events as the Trojans lost against the Washington Huskies. Simpson took to platform X to highlight his disappointment and shared an emotional video. His concerns were the reckless playmaking and the side’s defense that needs a jolt!

The former Buffalo Bills star and celebrity OJ Simpson shared his views after another Trojans loss. He took to the platform X to highlight what’s a growing concern for the USC side. Their defense has holes and allows the opposition easy access to touchdowns. The 5X Pro-Bowler expressed his dissatisfaction and gave his thoughtful criticisms in an emotional video. He said, “Hey world, it’s yours truly. What a horrible night it was” Simpson opened the stirring video and went about the current state of play.

OJ isn’t alone in critiquing the side’s defenses. There are several panelists and even former players who are chipping in with their assessments. To have an explosive offense with one of the best rookie quarterbacks on the team. The absence of a strong defense is bringing the downfall of the team. The last match was, however, a better one as USC put up a brave fight.

Joe Klatt takes direct aim at USC’s defense

After a thunderous start to the season and going all guns blazing in the first half, the Trojans are faltering right at the business end of the season. For USC, they’re coming in their own way with a defense that’s ruining any chances. Klatt highlighted the problem while discussing it with fellow analysts. As per Joe, the side’s three consecutive losses have now shed light on the defenses that are misaligned. It isn’t hard to see as they’re not reacting to the motions and formations correctly.

Moreover, what surprised Klatt was how the team was unable to utilize the players at their disposal. There are way too many questions that come up while making a move which downs the team’s morale. Klatt described it in the discussion saying, “It’s like hold on, we can’t we can’t do that, on one of the quarterback sneaks or not sneak, draw for a touchdown, they were in an empty formation so all the running backs out of the backfield.”

As far as the mistakes are concerned, it points to an obvious factor, in his words, “And USC literally had only two defenders inside the tackle box. It’s a walk-in. You can’t defend that way in the motion, man doesn’t insert themselves, they’re constantly outside of their gaps and misaligned and missing assignments.”

USC Trojans would need to find solutions at the earliest. They need to catapult their defenses and find a way to better their formations for the upcoming matches.
