Excitement is building for the return of EA Sports College Football 25 after an 11-year hiatus. To build excitement, the team shared several updates last month, including 10,000 players confirming their participation and veteran commentators bringing the games to life. The May 17 trailer fueled anticipation with stunningly realistic graphics of players and mascots. Everything seemed perfect, except for one key feature — the beloved “Road to Glory” mode.

It’s a fan-loved mode where players choose a star and go for a short prep season before entering college. In the new version, however, the “10-20 hour journey” starts at the college level, with users selecting star levels and attributes. This change hasn’t gone down well with fans.

This might not seem like a big deal for some, but it misses the point for Matt. He stated, “The whole point of ‘Road to Glory’ is to start from scratch. If you start with college football, then “you already got the Glory. He added, “The beauty of getting to the top…is the journey, it looks like EA Sports has ruined this journey for many.

Fans eager for the return of “Road to Glory mode in EA Sports College Football 25 were dealt another blow — the classic “mascot mode is also missing. This beloved feature allowed players to take the field as their favorite team’s mascot, like Ralphie the Buffalo or Bevo the Longhorn.  While some speculate it might be due to a push for “more authenticity, the omission has disappointed many fans.

Thankfully, iconic features like “Dynasty Mode and “Pre-snap Mode remain. The game also boasts user-friendly tools for analyzing the field and making strategic decisions. However, the removal of these classic features overshadows some improvements.  Critics have even called the trailer a “repackaging of the “Madden 25 NFL video game.  Thus, with launch day approaching, EA Sports faces the challenge of delivering a college football experience that lives up to the hype, not just with fancy graphics but also with the nostalgic features fans love.
