Shilo Sanders vs. Coach Prime—Who’s the true king of the Sanders family?

The NFL’s career return touchdown record holder Devin Hester may have been presented with a gold jacket by the Buffs HC on Friday, but it looks like Hurricane HoF likes Shilo Sanders more for his jokester abilities! On Wednesday, Deion Sanders and two-way star Travis Hunter were putting one another in shade about fishing. And before you know it, Shilo just kills the vibe altogether, leaving Coach Prime down in the mouth about ruining what could have been a marketing tactic for the Bass Coat Boats.

At the practice today at Folsom Field, Coach Prime challenged Travis Hunter to a bass boat hype competition, as posted on IG on August 8. Coach Prime said, “My bass boat makes fish cuss.” Hunter came up with something even more hilarious, and replied, “My bass boat makes fish jump in the boat. So we good.”

But the two fishing enthusiasts didn’t see Shilo advancing toward them to bury their claims of his superiority. He calmly said, “I’m gonna bring a seven-foot cast in that and do my thing.” Coach Prime wasn’t enthusiastic about Shilo coming in to ruin their game with a net as he said, “That just exemplifies who you really are.” In the comments section, Devin Hester couldn’t help but join in the entertainment.

He commented with laughing emojis, “Shilo always been like that.”

The post caption, “Talking fishing with @db3_tip [Travis Hunter]. My @basscatboats is the absolute best in the game!!!” definitely was more of a marketing gimmick than anything else, best presented to you by none other than Prime’s eldest, Bucky. Why? You may call it a Fourth-of-July present but Bass Cat Boats, a leading manufacturer of fishing boats, gifted a custom-made boat for the Sanders family to have a nice time fishing at their private lake. Yes, you heard that right.

The Sanders acquired a luxurious Boulder County estate with a 4-bedroom mansion in the exclusive Meadow Green Farm community in Longmont back in March. The cherry on top is it has a 40-acre private lake that boasts panoramic visuals of wide-open Colorado landscapes!

Have an interesting take?

Just four days ago, both Sanders Sr. and the Bears icon Devin Hester were in what was a surreal event at Canton Memorial Civic Center in Canton, Ohio. Hester couldn’t hold back tears the moment he hugged Deion Sanders on the night before he was inducted into the Pro Hall of Fame. The two proud men were emotional, condensing over-a-decade-long pro careers into a 31-second-long hug before they found their way to the stage.

It took 11 years but Hester’s final-season HoF prediction comes true

Arguably the best return specialist of all time, Hester’s 20 return touchdowns, which still remain the most in NFL history, passed Deion Sanders’ in 2014. Towards the end zone, Hester paid tribute to Prime Time by breaking out Sander’s trademark high-step routine that he even got penalized 15 yards for. Both HoFs were emotional that day in a postgame interview on NFL Network.

I’m overcome with emotions right now. Because I love you as a man, as a father, as a husband. I remember the beginning, man. I love you, dude. And I’m so proud of you, man. I’m so proud of you. You know that,” Sanders admitted. Just two seasons on, Hester decided to hang up his cleats with a prediction that he would one day be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. 11 years later, his wait was over.

The last six months — I can’t really express all the buildup and the emotions,” Hester said. “From the moment I fell in love with football at the age of 5 or 6 years old, to the process of getting to where we are today, it’s overwhelming. As a kid, I never envisioned being in the Hall of Fame… Now, to be up here and speak in the Hall of Fame, it’s a great honor.”

Slipping the golden jacket on the 41-year-old’s shoulders, Deion Sanders was behind Hester the entire time. He later posted on Instagram, “Wonderful Night in Canton, Ohio Celebrating the 1 and only @devin_d_hester_23 ! The Greatest Returner in @nfl History & the 1st to ever be selected. I love you and I’m so darn PROUD OF YOU! I’ve seen this Movie play out from the Genesis.”

Coach Prime will hope his own sons can follow in his Hall of Famer friend’s footsteps… or, at least, maybe for Shilo to stay away from his fishing adventures for a while!
