A father’s job is to shape and mold his son to be the best he can be. But is Coach Prime Deion Sanders taking the favoritism game too far? There has been recent exposure of the Colorado head coach in his relationship with the Buffs’ players, and not everyone has positive things to say about his behavior.

In a recent YouTube episode on Fearless with Jason Whitlock, the former college football OL exposes Coach Prime’s nepotism by voicing out a former player’s opinion on the Colorado HC. Maddox Kopp alleged that Coach Prime told him that as a quarterback, his job isn’t to compete, to prepare himself to play but to make Shedeur Sanders the best quarterback he can be. He’s said he was forced by Coach Prime to transfer a second time, leading to a year of ineligibility with the Redhawks.

Whitlock said, “That’s not what 18, 19, 20, 21-year-old kids want to hear. They want to compete and by competing, that will make Shedeur better. That will make them better.” According to Whitlock, “(Deion Sanders) is exploiting the system and normalizing behavior that is not good for the long-term health of college football and does a disservice to the young people involved in college football.

For some groups of people like Jason Whitlock, Coach Prime is all about boosting his sons Shedeur Sanders and Shilo Sanders to the top of the game at the cost of other talented players’ sacrifices. If the testimony is true, Coach Prime needs to revise the lines he sets for his QB son and other quarterbacks on the team.

Former Colorado QB Maddox Kopp has spoken out about his experience in Colorado under Coach Prime’s coaching during his testimony in the ongoing lawsuit relating to NCAA transfer restrictions. The 6’5 QB presented his testimony in court, saying that Deion Sanders’ arrival in Colorado gave him the back seat as all focus and attention is directed towards his own son.
