Cormani McClain, a talented CB at the college football level, created a massive fuss upon his arrival on the college football scene. He decided to join the University of Colorado on January 19th, 2023, after keeping everyone on their toes with his indecisiveness. The decision shocked many, as McClain had earlier given statements almost confirming his commitment to Miami. A pivotal part of his decision was the involvement of Deion Sanders as the head coach, a suggestion made by McClain’s high school coach, Keith Barefield. However, things didn’t go as planned for both parties.
McClain’s case has caught more attention after he announced his availability in the transfer portal following just one season with the Buffs. But there is more to the drama between McClain and Coach Prime as we explore the reasons behind his exit and reveal the truth related to it.

McClain didn’t feature in the first three games and played only nine games for Colorado during his stay, eventually starting in only four games. This may come as a shocker considering that he was the country’s top-ranked CB and was playing for CU, a team lacking depth and regarded as the country’s worst football program.
After realizing his fate wouldn’t sit well under Coach Prime, he announced his transfer availability and posted a thank-you note to CU staff, especially defensive coach Livingston. But again, there was no message of courtesy directed towards Coach Prime.

Expressing her displeasure over the harsh treatment of her son, McClain’s mother, Kaishay, tweeted, “Gotta be somewhere where you’re appreciated and not just tolerated!!! God take the lead, we’re right behind ya.” Well, since we do know McClain’s side of the story, but is that all to this unfortunate tale? Well, not exactly.
Coach Prime reveals major behavioral issues with Cormani McClain

It was later highlighted by Coach Prime too who further revealed more issues. Skipping practice sessions, skipping meetings, not watching tapes, being late for meetings, lack of responsibility, accountability, and motivation to do better were some of them.
Despite McClain’s unfortunate exit, Deion Sanders only had warm wishes for the 6’2” talented kid. He says, “I pray to God that he goes to a program that challenges him, as well as holds him accountable and develops him as a young man.” He further adds that unfortunately, CU wasn’t the program that could help enhance McClain’s talent. Now, there are rumors that McClain may go back either to Florida or Miami.
