Once again, Shilo Sanders is making headlines for the wrong reasons. The safety of Colorado’s reputation is butchered, as his draft stock has become a laughing stock. As if losing an assault and battery lawsuit wasn’t enough, Shilo Sanders also declared bankruptcy this season, putting himself in the negative spotlight. The timing of the whole fiasco was nightmarish for the Buffs’ safety since it was just time when early 2025 mock drafts were rolling in, making his draft stock more of a laughingstock.

Yet Shilo Sanders is a dreamer who likes to aim for nothing less than the sky. Or, in his case, nothing less than playing among the HoFs. Despite everything going on for the past few months, Shilo Sanders is determined to make it big in the NFL. This is exactly why he was looking at HoFer Warren Sapp’s film from back in the day. Sapp, being the graduate assistant coach at the Colorado Buffs, got a chance to watch the reaction of Shilo Sanders firsthand when speaking of the film.

When talking with Uncle Neely of The Pregame Show, they revealed that “Shilo’s eyes lit up,” when he came to tell Sapp that he watched his film. “I watched your tape last night,” Sapp said, mimicking Shilo’s voice. When Uncle Neely opinionated that Shilo was a “hitter,” Sapp came in with the audacious claim that Prime’s son made.

He was even like, ‘man I wish I could have played with y’all’,” Sapp said, immediately backing it up with a quip, saying, “Oh yes, hell you could have.” While Sapp’s words lightened up the tight atmosphere surrounding Shilo, the former HoFer adores Shilo Sanders with all his heart.

Warren Sapp is ‘proud of’ Shilo Sanders

While 2024 might be the first time Sapp and Sanders shared the same team in their iconic careers, the two have known each other since their Hall of Fame days. Sapp got his golden jacket in 2013, while Prime has been boasting his since 2011. Hence, Sapp has known Prime since his kids were small; he has watched them grow up.

Speaking about it in the DNVR podcast in February 2024, Sapp iterated how proud he was to witness Deion Sanders’ kids grow up to be “some of the finest college football players in the country.” The HoFer confessed that watching them mature as players “made me feel proud about it because there are so many roads that kids these days go on.” Hence, even though, as a coach, Sapp might have been strict on Shilo Sanders on-field, as a fellow HoFer, he would always be proud of what Deion Sanders’ kids are achieving.
