Is Shedeur Sanders just stirring the pot, or does he have a point about Cam Ward?

Like many Well Off Media videos, the Miami vacation vlog featuring Shedeur Sanders and crew went viral. However, a seemingly “friendly” interaction between Sanders and Miami quarterback Cam Ward quickly erupted into a social media storm.

The video snippet shows Sanders jokingly teasing Ward about being late to a training session. In a competitive spirit, Ward fired back, “Don’t BS… I might’ve been the reason we were late, but at least I got better!” This playful jab escalated when Ward further poked fun at Sanders’ throwing style and even challenged him to a yardage duel. Unfortunately, this playful banter got misinterpreted as “Cam being low-key jealous” of Shedeur. However, Shedeur’s teammate is now coming to Ward’s defense.

An X user reposted the video, stating, “Showing up late to the workout then attempting to hold accountability is jokes.” However, Buffaloes wide receiver Kaleb Mathis, aiming to clear the air, responded, “He [Cam Ward] wasn’t late we all left from the same place. He had to wait on his car from valet.” It turns out that these quarterback rivals left together! That’s wild, right?

Now, it’s all clear that it’s just some friendly ribbing. From where we’re standing, Ward was just messing with Shedeur for needing a water break. And both QBs casually indulged in banter to push each other to do their best in the practice session.

Thankfully, both sides are now actively downplaying the drama. It’s not just Mathis; even Coach Prime and the quarterbacks have all hinted that there’s no real animosity here.

Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward put an end to the drama

Is Shedeur Sanders just stirring the pot, or does he have a point about Cam Ward?

Have an interesting take?

Soon after the QB row broke out, Select Qb Athletic hopped in to clarify, saying, “Everything said in this video is how we joke with each other daily!” Coach Prime reposted it, shutting down any further drama. Now, Shedeur joined the party, posting an Instagram story of him and Ward practicing together, tagging Cam, and showing they’re just partners in crime. Ward even reposted it! It seems like a strong QB brotherhood is brewing.

This isn’t just a recent thing, either. During spring practice, Cam spoke highly of Shedeur at a press conference. He mentioned he had known Shedeur for over a couple of years and trained under the same QB coach, Darrell Cobert. He even said, “He’s a good dude. Things he’s done at Colorado already, I’m not surprised as much as people are.” Plus, he confidently predicted they’d meet in the playoffs someday.

What about the playful banter, then? It seems like just a glimpse into their competitive off-field relationship. On the field, it’s all mutual respect!
