The Hall of Fame advice seems to be working well for Drake Maye. The Heisman Trophy Champion has his eye set on one thing -his upcoming season in the NFL, where he would be competing against the big boys. As the NFL draft nears, Maye, alongside other NFL prospects, is learning the methods of pro-league from the former Chargers and Colts QB Philip Rivers.
Alabama is electric, as Rivers is training the future players of the NFL. ESPN’s Adam Schefter was the first one to break the news as he reported that the North Carolina QB Drake Maye is spending time learning from the eight-time Pro Bowl QB Rivers. The NFL veteran has spent one week in Mobile to impart his learned advice to Maye and others. However, what makes the practice even better for specifically Drake Maye is his deep personal connection with Rivers’s ways. Speaking to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Maye said, “He’s one of the best, he reminds me of my brothers. Loves to compete.”
Speaking substantially, Rivers has taught the boys about longevity, with a few tips on how to stay as healthy as him on the gridiron. However, the way Rivers has inspired the North Carolina player seems more significant as it has driven them to perfect their skills. “I think the biggest thing about Phil is he stayed healthy for so long in his career. So I just pick his brain on how he stayed healthy. I think the biggest thing with Philip is how he prepared. He’s tough. He’ll get in there, take a hit, and get right back up,” Maye said, highlighting the best qualities of Rivers that he appreciates.

Well, Maye better polish the skills well given the drama unfolding with the NFL draft nearing. He knows he’ll need all of it once a franchise locks him down.
Drake Maye’s top prospects
As the NFL draft nears, the controversies seep their way into the mainstream. One such story is that of the Chicago Bears and Caleb Williams. The Bears will get to make the first pick, so Maye becomes a strong possibility amidst the rumored rift going on between Williams and the Bears. If the Bears do not pick Williams, then the second strongest possibility is the New England Patriots picking Maye, given their dire need for a new QB.
The once-golden team of the NFL is struggling to make it to a winning record. Hence, getting an electric and touted QB like Maye would strengthen their roster. Giants and Cardinals are also looking to upgrade their QB positions. With Maye’s impressive 3608 yards with 24 touchdowns, 9 interceptions, and a completion percentage of 70%, any team that needs a revamp in the QB would compete in the race to secure Maye. But who would be successful in the chaotic race? Tell us more about your predictions for Draft Day below!
