The MVP contender for the 2023 season shared some interesting things on the podcast, along with Tom Brady. However, there was one emotional moment that broke down Brady. He described how a fan mail from a cancer patient moved him to the core and offered him a new perspective on life.
It involved the death of a cancer patient as revealed by the 49ers running back player, which sparked the start of the Logan Foundation, which is McCaffrey’s own cancer foundation following this incident.

Chris McCaffrey revealed that when he was back in Caroline, there was a young boy by the name of Logan Hale who lost his life to cancer. He got emotional as he shared the story on the Let’s Go podcast – “I got a letter that said there’s a young boy who’s going through cancer right now, who’s a big fan. I signed a couple of things for him. I found out he had passed away, unfortunately.”
The experience had a change of perspective on the player, and it gave birth to the Logan Project. Since then, the running back player has championed the cause of his young fans. He has done a lot for cancer patients through his Logan Project foundation. The bond with Logan Hale is special since it made the player realize that he can touch lives and provide joy to numerous of his followers during the last stages of their lives. Chris McCaffrey highlighted during the show how the death of Hale got immortalized and motivated him to start a unique Bowl. “It hit me pretty hard because they told me that he got buried in my jersey”, shared an emotional McCaffrey as he showcased the impact players have on their ardent fans.

As per the child’s obituary, Logan wanted to provide Xboxes for kids all across the world so that they could communicate with each other and also stay in touch with his friends. Chris McCaffrey went above and beyond in supporting this decision with Logan Bowl. The Bowl is a live, bracket-style Madden Tournament that raises funds for the Logan Project’s efforts.
