Even though the JuJu fever is on, Julian “JuJu” Lewis himself seems to run low on confidence regarding his stay in Colorado Buffaloes. As the USC Trojans quarterback appears on the On3 Recruits interview, he does not seem to expect much from Deion Sanders and his program.

Lewis says his acceptance in Buffaloes relies directly on their current unique situation. Courtesy goes to their quarterback, Shedeur Sanders, who has reached college football’s last chapter of his tenure

While the “We Want JuJu” song has become the Buffs’ anthem, not everything seems optimistic. From the five-star recruits’ latest interview, one could sense that the player suffers from bouts of uncertainty. “Him and my dad get along very well and stuff like that but uh yeah no I mean they could. There’s no telling what he’s going to do I mean he could give up on me after a while and be like all right we got to get a guy,” confessed Lewis.

One of the many reasons Lewis’ chance in Colorado is not firm is because the role he will be taking up belongs to someone as prominent as Shedeur. Now that Deion Sanders’ son has arrived at his last chapter in college football, the quarterback will leave high expectations for any player to take up his position. However, Lewis, too, is exploring multiple options outside Colorado.

The recruiting race that Lewis participates in

This is the third time in a row that Lewis will be visiting Deion Sanders and other Colorado faculties. By now, the 2025 prospect class may have memorized every corner of the Buffs program. His most recent trip to Colorado was in March. On this note, On3 VP Steve Wiltfong did leave his expert commentary on Sanders’ squad flipping him, “Don’t sleep on the Buffaloes, man. That’s gonna be a third visit to Colorado for Julian Lewis.”

While Deion Sanders’ charm has drawn Lewis to the Buffaloes, he has also shown interest in other programs. In his Locked on Buffs podcast, Kevin Borba pointed out, “Now they have a lot of work to do for Julian Lewis. He’s a five-star quarterback with just about every program in the country coming after him but he’s already narrowed down his official visits. He’s already committed to USC but until pen is put to paper you cannot count out.”

Besides the big shots, Lewis seems not to be entirely sure about joining hands with Buffs as he revealed, “Georgia and Alabama have been recruiting me the hardest and have never stopped.” It is now to be seen who weighs the most in landing Lewis.
