Jim Harbaugh is juggling a ton of things currently, with the Wolverines orchestrating the perfect knockout plan for the Alabama Crimson Tide in the Rose Bowl, to the head coach ruminating about his future with the team. It’s not about job security, it’s about the money. Keeping the teams from NFL hunting for Harbaugh for their head coach position, the Wolverines have made their case strong by offering him $55 million, over 5 years, with a commitment from him of not choosing any NFL team.

While the Wolverines’ head coach may have cleared his intentions well in advance of continuing with them, he simply cannot ignore the prospects. Unless he has a cogent reason to do so. Aaron Torres has a colluding theory about Michigan’s fascination with Harbaugh, and vice versa.

Even after a whole reputation-tainting fiasco unfolded, due to which Jim Harbaugh got suspended temporarily, the Wolverines never left his side. As per Torres, it was precisely due to Harbaugh’s cordial relationship with school president Santa Ono. “Jim Harbaugh has a great relationship with his school president Santa Ono,” confessed he. After Ono assumed his duties, the Wolverines received a commendable amount of support for the varsity sport from the school. Ono is often seen clicking pictures with the team, proving Torres’s point further.
Moreover, the analyst also shares some reported inside information about Harbaugh having the extension contract long before the sign-stealing debacle. “They are ready to move forward with him in the future,” says Torres confidently. “The Administration has his back and we know it’s going to come down to whether or not he ends up signing a long-term deal.” In the end, it boils down to either Harbaugh’s passion for staying with the Wolverines, or his aspirations to fulfill with the NFL teams.

When browsing through the NFL teams with a presumable chance of hiring Harbaugh, the Panthers and Bears are the first ones to pop up. While the rumors took little time to spread like wildfire after Harbaugh met with David Tepper last season, they got the final stroke after Frank Reich was fired. Possibilities are stronger than ever, all in favor of Harbaugh, only if he decides to leave the Wolverines.
