"Is Arch Manning making the right call by backing Quinn Ewers, or should he push for his own start?"

Arch Manning’s name itself is loaded! Joining the Texas Longhorns as their quarterback, the young Manning came at a massive $280k cost and sparked enthusiasm among fans. But after two years as a backup quarterback, some have wondered if the hype was a fumble.

Many started questioning his future with the team. Soon, rumors swirled that Arch might ditch the Longhorns in the coming years. But the QB himself has a different story to tell.

In a recent interview amidst his training at the Manning Passing Academy, Arch opened up about his role with refreshing honesty. “Sometimes it’s hard to stay patient,” he admitted. The desire to play is natural, but his loyalty to the Longhorns shines through. “I can’t wait to stay there for more years and win some games,” he declared, stressing his long-term commitment. “I’m going to stay loyal unless something terrible happens,” he added.

Now, backing up a teammate comes with challenges. “Everyone wants to go in and play,” he acknowledged. But Arch understands the bigger picture, too. “Sitting a year or two, it’s tough,” he said, embracing the tough road ahead. While the urge to play right away is real, his perspective seems to shift. He’s “learning a lot every day” from the sidelines, honing his skills and soaking up knowledge.

Now, he’s ready to continue proving himself, and this fall, too, he’ll support Quinn Ewers, the team’s current starting quarterback. Even Ewers himself encourages Manning’s development from the sidelines.

Arch Manning is embracing his learning curve with the Longhorns

Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers recently spoke with Robert Griffin III about his time with the team. When discussing his backup, Arch Manning, Ewers echoed the 19-year-old’s sentiment.I think he gains a lot” from being the backup, Ewers noted. He then elaborated on the benefits for Manning, highlighting the chance to “get a lot of intel from that and then obviously another year to learn the offense.” Ewers even sees it as the “best situation” for a young quarterback, emphasizing learning before taking the reins.

And who wouldn’t want to learn from the Longhorns organization? Head coach Steve Sarkisian weighed in, stating, “Everyone’s praising Arch for staying at Texas? … that’s part of the process.”  With a robust offensive scheme, the Longhorns are an attractive landing spot for any offensive player, and the learning opportunities are unmatched.

Thus, Arch Manning’s commitment to Texas seems unquestioned. Based on the positive words from everyone involved and his embrace of the learning curve, Manning seems well on his way to “slowly” becoming a star for the Longhorns.
