Though the fans are harsh critics regarding the USC quarterback, it looks like he has an admirer in the center of Oklahoma. Caleb Williams announced his decision to enter the NFL Draft this year after spending two years with the Trojans and that too as a starter. Already deemed a number 1 draft pick, Williams is getting his flowers from the league and former rival players.
Caleb Williams, the quarterback for the USC Trojans, was the backbone of his team’s success in the 2023 season. He was a Heisman Trophy winner in 2022 and a leading contender for it again, but couldn’t defend his title after a loss at the hands of Washington. Now that he’s on his way to being the biggest star of the Draft, Williams will get a shot at redemption in the NFL while players like Andrew Raym continue to be his supporters at this crucial time.

This is the week for NFL Combine interviews and, as such, Andrew Raym had to take on the questions posed by the media as well. He was seen talking about his meeting with the Chicago Bears and went further on to share his thoughts on Williams, who is projected to be picked by the Bears since they have the number 1 Draft pick this year.

Raym had nothing but words of appreciation for the Trojans’ star and said, “I love Caleb, he’s a great guy. I know he’s getting kind of a bad rap out there right now but I mean that’s really not him when he gets in the locker room. I’ll always love and respect Caleb. He brings a lot to the team, he brings a lot to the table. ” The 22-year-old is predicted to be the next generational talent in the NFL who could very well be the next Patrick Mahomes, but as far as his humility is considered, Williams is lacking a bit on that front.
Caleb Williams responded arrogantly while missing out on the Combine throws
Several players, including the likes of Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, and Caleb Williams, announced their decision to not participate in the NFL Combine throws. Though their reasons weren’t officially disclosed, it is reported that they didn’t want to risk enduring an injury right before the biggest moment of their careers – the NFL Draft of 2024. But when allowed to justify his absence from the Combine, Williams seemed to reply with a boastful tone that didn’t sit right with the fans.

Williams said, “I didn’t feel the need to go out and throw. I played about 30-something games I believe, go ahead and go watch reel, live ball with me and see how I am as a competitor.” Williams is undoubtedly sitting at the top of the peak for the draft QB prospects but yet could’ve shown a better quality of leadership than what was seen in his answer. Thus, while everyone eagerly waits for the Draft, which is only 54 days away, Williams’ fate in the NFL will be looked to with a lot of interest as he is predicted to be the next great QB in the world of football.
