“They don’t last” are the words Caleb Williams would hardly expect coming in for him, the first overall projected pick of the 2024 NFL draft. Keyshawn Johnson begs to differ. Johnson did not mince his words when setting his expectations from the No. 1 draft pick of the NFL draft. Williams’ fundamental shortcomings, credited to Kliff Kingsbury’s style of coaching Williams, were on the receiving end of Johnson’s criticism.
“What I want to see him be able to do is to see his back foot let it rip. Because the off-schedule stuff that we continue to see is not going to happen in the NFL,” Keyshawn Johnson laid out the facts straight in his latest episode of Undisputed. The target here was Kliff Kingsbury, the former QB coach of Caleb Williams at USC. Even though it was just one season that Kingsbury spent at USC, it played a major hand in the forging of one of the top QBs in the draft class of 2025, thanks to his experience with elite QBs like Case Keenum, Johnny Manziel, Patrick Mahomes, and Kyler Murray.
Keyshawn Johnson on why Caleb Williams’ game may not translate to the NFL and why he prefers Jayden Daniels.
“I hate the system (at USC), can’t stand the air raid … the off-schedule stuff that we continue to keep seeing is not going to happen in the #NFL.”

On the other hand, Keyshawn Johnson does not like Kingsbury’s ways of driving the ball. Especially the way he taught Caleb Williams to drive the ball. “The quarterback is not going to be 99.9% of the shortcut. It’s not going to happen,” Johnson spat out the bitter facts since the hype around Caleb Williams potentially going to Washington just for the Kingsbury-Williams reunion has been the talk of the town.
With just a fortnight remaining until the draft, all signs point to Caleb Williams and the Bears being a likely match. The real intrigue, however, begins with the No. 2 pick of the Washington Commanders, as they are still mulling over their choice of QB.

While the Commanders have moved on from JJ McCarthy, the best options they are left with are Drake Maye and Jayden Daniels. Per JPA Football’s report, the Commanders will host Drake Maye as a part of their 30 visits. The visit is scheduled for April 16-17, when the Commanders will meet Maye for the second time following their Pro-Day meet.
The Washington Commanders’ choice between Jayden Daniels and Drake Maye is a topic of intense speculation. With Daniels set to visit the team on April 15, just before Maye’s visit, the Commanders’ decision could have far-reaching implications. Is the Commanders’ meeting with Maye a mere formality or a serious threat to Daniels’ chances of being the coveted No.2 pick? Share your predictions in the comments.
