Just two months ago, Hall of Fame defensive lineman Warren Sapp joined the Colorado Buffaloes as a graduate assistant. But he already seems to have found his place in the team and fostered a great relationship with HC Deion Sanders. His appointment, backed by a $150K contract, was a strategic move by Coach Prime, who recognized Sapp’s ability to prepare players for the “next level.”

In a segment on the Well Off Media channel on YouTube uploaded on June 7, viewers could witness just how smoothly things are running for Sapp and Sanders. The recently appointed coach had a gift for Prime Time from Hawaii. “I got you that right, there baby, that come from Hawaii right there.”

Sanders was elated as he beamed at the full-sleeved black shirt, calling it his “fishing shirt.” What did the HC further say? Well, he was overwhelmed. “Thank you, sir!” he stated and gave Sapp a hug. However, the latter had some more good things to say about Deion Sanders.

Sapp: “He got gifts for me. He got way more gifts for me than I got for him. But you gotta make sure the boss is alright.”
Sanders: “It’s all a blessing, baby.”

Warren Sapp joined Coach Prime in Colorado with high enthusiasm, and his presence has brightened up the Buffs with his easy-going personality and hilarious banter. However, his admiration for the Colorado HC is not new. In a previous video posted by Well off Media, which is run by Deion Sanders Jr., he stated that he had been Sanders’ fan since he was 12 years old. In fact, the biggest reason behind him going to Boulder was Coach Prime.

Further, Deion Sanders has been busy with his coaching staff. After a 4-8 first season with the Buffs, he introduced Robert Livingston as the defensive coordinator and even brought in Phil Loadholt to help the offensive line. This would also aid in protecting his QB son, Shedeur. But coming back to Sapp, he is already speaking the language of Boulder.

Warren Sapp hopes to win a championship with the Buffs!

Right from the beginning, Sapp has shown unwavering support and loyalty to Coach Prime. So, after becoming an official CU staff, Warren Sapp told the Buffs in the locker room, “You know I like nice stuff and we’re building mansions here, so that’s why I’m here to help you build your mansion and foundation. Anything you need, come see me. I’m in 416.”

He spent 13 seasons in the NFL (Tampa Bay and Oakland Raiders). The University of Miami standout also won a Super Bowl with the Buccaneers in 2002. Clearly, he has the experience to strengthen the Buffs and also a similar mindset to Sanders. But that’s not the only advantage the team has. Colorado is one of the rarest places where one will find two Pro Football Hall of Famers working together on the same coaching team!

Now, everyone’s eyes will be on Colorado. Apart from the high-level coaching staff, Deion Sanders’s way has brought in a lot of attention. The team has less than 100 days to prepare for the 2024 football season. They’ll face North Dakota State on August 29 (Thursday). This will be the first gridiron matchup between the two teams.
