Former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III bolted off from the field in the middle of a college football game. That too, live on national television.That run is not for the lack of engaging football but due to good news. He just got a call and got updated about his pregnant partner.

Well, he missed the highest scoring Fiesta Bowl game ever, but some things do take priority. The NFL world agreed too and sent their blessings for the couple.

Robert Griffin III bolts off national TV to be with wife

The Texas Christian University took on the University of Michigan in the 2022 Fiesta Bowl on Saturday. Former Washington Commanders QB Robert Griffin III was there to cover it for ESPN. But he did not stay for the entire game and ran off the field on receiving a call on air in the third quarter.

“Sorry guys, gotta go,” Griffin said to the on-field broadcasting team after learning that his wife had gone into labor with their third child.

The then got some hugs before darting off the field and out of the State Farm Stadium like a rocket. His running abilities were at full display on national TV.

A crew member chased the QB to capture the hilarious yet heartwarming moment, but Griffin proved to be too quick for them.

The Bowl game lived up to the fan expectations and was indeed a thriller. But fans will remember it as the day Griffin ran almost at the speed of light of the field. And he got the blessings of the NFL world in abundance.

Griffin’s baby takes the centrestage for the NFL world 

The NFL world congratulated Robert Griffin III on the good news. Some fans said they missed him on-screen while others were concerned about him getting injured and asked him to slow down.

Griffin shares two daughters with wife Greta Griffin, four-year-old Gloria and two-year-old Gameya. He also has a six-year-old daughter Reese Anne from a previous relationship.

The TCU Horned Frogs won the Fiesta Bowl after defeating the Michigan Wolverines 51-45. As Griffin gets ready to welcome his fourth child, TCU is preparing for the College Football Playoff National Championship against the Georgia Bulldogs.
