Will Coach Primе bring a winning sеason this year?

In the latest episode of the Cover 3 Podcast, uploaded on May 9th, the hosts discussed the successes and pitfalls of college football head coaches’ inaugural seasons. Unsurprisingly, the discussion could not evade the meteoric rise of Deion Sanders, whose arrival from JSU to Colorado’s football scene in December 2022 sparked considerable attention.

Bud Elliott minced no words in his assessment of Coach Prime & Co., saying, “Deion Sanders took over a 1-11 team. He didn’t make a bowl game. His coaching failures on the field directly led to two losses because he had not had to coach in close games at Jackson State because they just had so much more talent than the league.” Regarding expectations, Elliott suggested that while Colorado didn’t necessarily anticipate immediate victories, they did expect Sanders to bring “a lot of attention and fanfare” to the program. “I don’t think Colorado really expects him to win,” bluntly expressed Elliott.

Meanwhile, Danny Kanell offered a nuanced perspective, rating Coach Prime’s debut season as a “B-minus” primarily based on their win-loss record. With Sanders at the helm, Colorado finished with a disappointing 4-8 record last season, leaving Kanell uncertain about the team’s prospects for improvement this year.

However, Coach Prime’s promise to loyal fan Peggy during the April 27th Spring Game of getting her a bowl game this year also raised expectations among the fans. Therefore, although the expectations surrounding Coach Prime and Colorado are not that high, let’s see if Shedeur & Co. successfully bounces back from the 4-8 setback.
