The post-draft evening was when the Bears saw the dawn of their new era. Drafting Caleb Williams and then Rome Odunze in their first round was a masterstroke they pulled. The Bears have been building a team in silence for quite a while. Also having meticulously lured in D’Andre Swift while having one of the finest DJ Moore with them. Following this move was striking a perfect trade with the Chargers to land Keenan Allen.

The perfect finishing touch was Drafting Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze whom Matt Eberflus needed to complete his masterpiece of a roster. However, it was a move carefully planned for the future. Field Yates, ESPN’s NFL Draft analyst, in a conversation with Mina Kimes, revealed how it holds the potential to bring about a youthful rejuvenation to their roster. While much has been discussed around the sheer talent and scope Caleb Williams would bring to the Bears table, Yates chipped in his two cents on how Rome Odunze’s draft was an excellent move for the Bears’ WR future.

“He is a star in the making or he will be a star at the NFL level and Keenan Allen, I think, recently turned 32 or 33 years old. I’m excited about the trade. I thought it was a really good piece of business for Chicago but if you still have Keenan Allen on the roster three years from now, that might be more like unlikely, than it is likely, given his age. So you are both helping your offense now, perhaps in a more complimentary role for Rome Odunze but you might legitimately have a pillar of your offense for the next decade,” Yates concluded on Rome Odunze’s draft. And Yates is not alone in praising Odunze’s talent as the NFL drafting experts also put in their two cents on the WR.

The NFL analysts across the media houses are joining hands to bring the much-deserved highlight to Rome Odunze. The WR’s above-average physicality and athleticism with his pass-catching instincts and tracking/adjustment skills were perfectly pointed out by the Athletic’s Dane Bruglar.

Be it his body positioning, body control, hand strength, timing, mid-air adjustments, or ball control, Odunze has aced it all. His seamless cruise through routes paired with his agility was something NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein lauded.
