If only everyone had the luck and opportunity, like the non-scholarship rookie quarterback of the Yellow Jackets football team! Colson Brown, perhaps one of the luckiest college football freshmen, recently made an exhilarating announcement that he’ll be playing this week with the Georgia Tech golf team. And he gets to play in one of the most coveted and popular golf courses in the world!

Filling in for a redshirt junior, Georgia Tech walk-on QB Colson Brown just went ahead of himself before he even saw the Yellow Jackets’ football field. In a situation where head coach Bruce Heppler fell short of one player, Brown fits the perfect bill as a short-notice athlete who gets to shine in the spotlight before even playing for the football team.

His choice was to withdraw or find a replacement. Needless to say, Georgia Tech’s head coach found a way to bring Colson Brown into the game. On Wednesday evening, Colson Brown took to his Twitter to post the following message, “Beyond excited and blessed to announce my commitment to Georgia Tech! Go Jackets!

Although Colson Brown is already a part of the Georgia Tech football team, he is still unlisted on the team’s QB depth chart. He is still yet to experience any action over the eight games so far. So the head coach and Heisman Trophy winner Chris Weinke had no issues letting Brown substitute Ben Reuter in the golf tournament.
