As Deiondra Sanders awaits her motherhood, her mother Carolyn Chambers became her beacon of inspiration. Graduating from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary was a milestone that Carolyn Chambers achieved just a few weeks after turning 58. “Love you,” Dediondra Sanders wrote on Instagram to send her heartfelt wishes to her mother on April 15. What the fans didn’t know then, however, was that Deiondra was also quietly excited to celebrate her first birthday as an expecting mother.
April 17 marked Deiondra Sanders’ birthday, just a day after her mother’s birthday. The moment was thrilling for her, especially now that she had a fair understanding of the challenges motherhood brings. Deiondra wanted to make each moment with her mother special on her birthday. For that, she had the perfect surprise planned for the big day, one that she recently revealed on her birthday vlog.
The soon-to-be mother chose to put her dietary preferences for her mother, and‘took one for the team’. “We’re finna to go to dinner with my mom. Those that follow me know that my mom’s birthday was yesterday. So I’m excited that we get to spend our birthdays together this year. Y’all are going to see my mom. We’re going to a Crab Spot Joe’s Stone Crab. I actually hate Seafood for those who don’t know that I do not eat no seafood but I wanted to be with my mom on my birthday and they already made these reservations so I’m going to take one for the team,” Deiondra Sanders said in her vlog.

While mother, Carolyn Chambers, turning 58, surely called for a celebration, Deiondra Sanders knew that an even bigger celebration was underway since her mother was about to graduate. Chambers broke the news on Instagram on May 3rd, donning a graduation day attire. “My beautiful Mommy graduated today!” Deiondra Sanders proudly wrote on Instagram, congratulating Chambers. With the post, fans were ensured of the shared values that Deion Sanders still has with his first ex-wife.
Carolyn Chambers and Deion Sanders’ shared values
Even though he spent four years with the Seminoles as a student-athlete, Deion Sanders did not graduate from FSU before he left for the pro league. However, Prime has always valued education the most. Hence, he joined the Talladega University and graduated in 2020. Sanders’ convocation speech stands as one of his most memorable speeches of all time, as he graduated with a degree in Business Administration.
Now that Carolyn Chambers completed her graduation too, it reflects the value of education she shared with her former husband. Even though they might be divided by divorce, their shared values are something they both are proud of.
