Hard times are going to be over soon for the Georgia Bulldogs HC. Kirby Smart just landed a green pass from UGA Football on Dawg Post podcast co-hosts. They are impressed by the overall roster as the Bulldogs head the 2024 season. But what stands out is the running back room. They are believed to be all “healthy”.
While some of the big hits as mentioned in the podcast are Nate Frazier, Dwight Phillips, and Keith Marshall, HC Smart seems to be pinning his hopes on someone else. It’s none other than Branson Robinson who turns out to be “certainly promising.” But why Robinson?

Physical toughness is something that Smart’s program never falls short of. This season too the RB room is set to leave a lasting mark to secure victory with ease. Georgia has tailbacks that are not afraid of contact. The podcast host Dean Legge also seems to be on the same page as he comes up with a clean chit for Smart’s RB room, “Looks like the running backs are all healthy from what I can tell.”
The analyst then goes on to mention a few names and how they stand out in their own way, “The young guys you want to talk about Frazier for a second…you talking about Dwight Phillips (Jr.)…is just like one he is going to be gone..he is sudden.” Philips Jr. ran track throughout his high school career and averaged a swift 10.43 100-meter time. Nate Frazier, whom Legge tags as “electric” is a dynamic back with a rare combination of power and speed. However, the analyst missed out on an important name that HC Smart gave a shout-out.

Robinson is all ready to make a mark in 2024
It’s none other than Bulldogs RB Branson Robinson who missed the last season after sustaining an injury. And 2024 season ushered in good news for the player who got a green pass to hit the practice without any limitation. However, this is something that Smart had expected as he commented, “It’s not a shock to me that he’s able to start going without limitations.” Last season, the program had pinned high hopes on the 5-foot-10, 220-pound Robinson but the expectations hit nose-dive when he sustained a ruptured patella tendon on August 22, 2023.

Hence, this year, all that Smart wants to do is proceed with extreme caution. As the HC informed, “but the load management is critical because you can’t take someone who hasn’t done everything and just throw them into everything. We’ve got to be smart about that. It’s certainly promising.”
The redshirt sophomore rushed 330 yards and holds a record of three touchdowns on 68 carries back in 2022. The 2024 RB room for Smart’s program already looked powerful. Now that Robinson too is returning, it boosts its potency. It’s Bulldog bash time!
