Can anyone stop the Bulldogs now with Kirby Smart's latest powerhouse recruits?

Just when dreams crashed for the Georgia Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart after losing multiple players to legal woes, here is some good news! Athens will make a loud noise this season — all kudos to their latest recruits. As discussed on the UGA Football on Dawg Post, the host could not help but obsess over Smart reeling in the fresh talent in the Athens hood that would make their journey toward the national championship no less than a cakewalk. The notable names to be mentioned are Roderick Robinson and Oscar Delp. Will rising Georgia QB Carson Beck’s Heisman dreams be alive?

To start with, host Matt DeBary focused on the Bulldogs RB Roderick Robinson. The rising sophomore is the leading returning rusher from the 2023 season, holding a record of 24 carries for 196 yards, including 2 touchdowns during Georgia’s 63-3 victory over FSU during the Orange Bowl. As the host informed, “I got a text from a source who was there on Sunday who said zero is running all over the place. He is a 6’1 235 lb running back, he’s one of the best running backs to ever come out of San Diego California…he is so tough to bring down.”

While the fans got mesmerized with Robinson heading into the season with such mighty force in Smart’s squad, DeBary dropped in another big hit in this year’s roster, Oscar Delp. Even though Georgia lost some key contributors this season, the biggest blow came with Brock Bowers moving to the NFL. But not to worry, Georgia fans, HC Smart has landed someone as big as Bowers, Delp.

And Delp, too, is performing well, as the host informed us: “I heard Oscar Delp caught multiple passes, four or five during the close scrimmage.” The tight end has set high expectations ever since he made it to the list of breakout candidates released by PFF. Are these players the reason behind Smart’s sky-high confidence?

Smart’s confidence in Georgia’s quest for the title

Last time, Smart and his tribe hit a blow after losing to Alabama Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship. Even though they did not allow the defeat to plague their morale, there seemed to be some uncertainty nudging them. Because of players like Delp and Robinson and star QB Carson Beck, Georgia enters the 2024 season as one of the top teams. And this has been an absolute WIN-WIN situation for Smart. “We want to recreate ourselves to stay in the best light we can. This team has been fun to coach.,” revealed the impressed HC.

Because of the confident coach, the players are also basking in high motivation. As defensive back Malaki Starks claimed about national championships, “We don’t talk about it; we win them. That’s the biggest thing for us right now — keeping our head down and keeping the standard the standard.”
