The young Colorado prodigy is on his way to becoming one of the best WRs in the 2024 class, despite the constant hate for the team’s poor 2023 season. The newly released EA Sports College Football 25 put Travis Hunter on the center of the cover, with Quinn Ewers and Donovan Edwards, hitting that he just might be the star of the game with the highest rating, amid all the backlash against his reputation.

Travis Hunter, the wide receiver for the Colorado Buffaloes, is widely considered to be an elite player for the upcoming season due to his talent for playing both the position of receiver and cornerback. As such, when the question arose of who deserves to have a 99 rating overall in the game, his name popped up immediately, and Quinn Ewers couldn’t help but also resonate with the same.

There have been several NFL analysts talking about how Travis Hunter could very likely be the 99-rated player in the game. If this were to happen, Hunter would overtake Andrew Luck’s 13-year streak as the only 99 player in the history of college football in the last game that EA released in 2014, after which the NFL Madden series took over. Moreover, Quinn Ewers of Texas, despite being on the cover himself, predicted a higher rating for Hunter than himself when he valued him at 99.

Ewers spoke about Travis being the only player with a 99 rating and wrote, “I’m not sure if they’re going to put anyone at 99, but if they do I think he’ll be closest to it” To which, this fan seemed pleased with the sportsmanship spirit and retweeted with his own caption that said, “Game recognize game🤝” Furthermore, while the majority of the wave of haters against Colorado keep dissing Hunter for being on the cover of the game despite having a 4-8 season last year, it looks like Ewers’ words have brought about a change of heart in the fans.

The fans add on to Ewers’ praise for Travis

There is no doubt about the fact that Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter have been the spine behind Colorado’s minute success last season. Additionally, along with his high NIL rankings, Hunter is also predicted to be a top-10 pick in the 2025 NFL draft. As such, the fans didn’t have a hard time believing what Ewers had to say about Hunter’s rating in the upcoming game.

One fan believed what the Texas QB had to say and wrote about it by tweeting, “I could see that because Travis Hunter is an elite 2-way player

Another user on X bought into Ewers’ prediction but doubted himself when he asked whether Hunter would have the same rating on both his positions. He said, “i’m more curious if they’ll have him at one position or both, and if he’ll have the same rating at both if they do put him on both sides

A fan also chimed in with his agreement with what Ewers had to say about the Colorado QB and wrote, “Obviously ✨” Hence, it looks like a new perspective about Travis is taking over as everyone finally realizes the talents that the youngster possesses.

Lastly, another user was all too direct with his opinion on Travis and outrightly stated, “he deserves a 99

Thus, as the new season draws to a close, it is evident that the fans are more than excited to see Hunter perform and hopefully, live up to the expectations of a 99-rated player on the actual gridiron because the Colorado Buffaloes desperately need his talents this year.
