With the careers of both the head coaches of USC and Colorado lying in the balance, Paul Finebaum’s predictions are gaining more and more traction within the community. The ESPN analyst has had quite the nasty critiquing opinions for Deion Sanders ever since his debut with the Colorado Buffaloes last year, and now, he has also shifted his eyes to Lincoln Riley, who got bashed more than Coach Prime about his time with the Trojans.
The USC Trojans haven’t been having the best time with Lincoln Riley as their head coach. Despite having Caleb Williams on the team, who was the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner and the first pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the team couldn’t even make it to a conference game. Their last 6 games saw a string of 5 losses, making their total come out to a record of 7-5. The future of Lincoln Riley doesn’t seem too promising at USC and, as such, the list of potential candidates is being speculated about, with Coach Prime being the top contender at the moment.

The wounds that Paul Finebaum’s recent criticisms of the Buffaloes are still fresh. The SEC specialist went on to talk about how the Colorado Buffaloes are a “terrible” team in itself and Shedeur wouldn’t ever see the light of success while he’s still in Boulder. Additionally, he talked about how Deion doesn’t have the “patience” to wait for Colorado to get better in the hopes of winning a championship and predicted the HC to take flight from the men in black and golden soon.

On top of Deion’s exit rumors, Finebaum came on the ESPN College Football show and talked about the recent move of USC to the Big Ten. What the Trojans’ fans weren’t prepared for were the harsh comments that Finebaum had to make for Lincoln Riley. The “mouth of the south” said, “I don’t know that I’ve seen a worse coaching job by anyone than Lincoln Riley this year.”
The coach’s position seems to be in jeopardy since his past 2 seasons have been quite disappointing. Plus, this would be a perfect situation for Deion Sanders to change his colors and join a team that has, more or less, better chances to win the national championship as compared to Colorado who has only won one championship ever, and that too, in 1990.

Paul Finebaum talks about Deion Sanders’ impatience
It is obvious that the Colorado team stands on a lot of hopes and expectations from their fans, but is any of it genuine confidence or just a hype train making stops in a frenzy? Additionally, Coach Prime’s popularity and his influence are some of the leading factors behind the millions of supporters backing the team this season, but does any of it amount to actual results on the gridiron? These are the doubts that Finebaum squashed almost immediately with his comments and also talked about Deion’s exit.

The Fox Sports analyst came on to the SEC Network and here’s what he had to say about Colorado and Deion. His statement was, “They’re not going to the playoffs this year. And I’m not sure Deion Sanders is ever going to get them to the playoffs because I don’t think he has the patience to stay at Colorado long enough. Colorado isn’t important in college football. Deion Sanders is.”
These words come after Finebaum termed Deion as a celebrity coach. But there might be some truth behind the analyst’s predictions, as a job opening in USC seems to be on the market soon, which could be a leading factor in Deion making the drastic switch.
