A person never forgets where they come from. Be it the legendary Brady who is always a cheerleader at heart when it comes to his college team, Michigan Wolverines, supporting it amidst all the sign-stealing debacle, or be it Arnold Terrion, a Tallahassee, Florida native. However, unlike Brady, Terrion chose what was the most suitable for him, which is paying off now.

Terrion was selected as a Freshman All-American by the FWAA in 2022 by the Crimson Tide Crimson, although he joined the team the previous year. After that, Terrion has left no stone unturned to display commendable performance for and with his team, resulting in the Crimson Tide finally making it to the playoffs this year. The Alabama safety then made an appearance on the Paul Finebaum show to express his happiness regarding the team’s success. However, Finebaum was shocked to know that Alabama was not always the first choice of Terrion.

Terrion’s father and Jimbo Fisher were close friends. Currently, Jimbo Fisher is known as the former Texas coach with the highest payout college football has ever seen, but this was not the case then. Fisher served as the A&M head coach from 2018 to 2023. However, before this, he was the head coach at Florida Stae University, which marked his debut in the world of head coaching.

Circling back to Arnold Terrion, the safety was inspired by Jimbo Fisher. “I grew up watching like Jimbo Fisher because I went to school with Jimbo Fisher,” reminisced Terrion. Emphasizing their bond further, he said, ” And we’re very, very tight.” Naturally, due to the personal and native bad he shares with Florida, Terrion felt a tinge of sadness as FSU couldn’t make it to the playoffs, especially when going to FSU was his dream once.

Finebaum called it “A “sliding doors” moment?” for the Alabama Safety. But thanks to his last-minute conscience, the player who almost ended up at FSU became a part of the Alabama Crimson Tide. Terrion elaborated on the friendships he has harbored since then, especially with Seminoles’ QB Jordan Travis and WR Keon Coleman.

“Even them not being able to get in, I’m going to go out there and play for my guys,” chided the Alabama safety, treading through the juxtaposed crossroads that he is standing at. More than that, Arnold Terrion would play for his team, and himself against the undefeated Michigan at the Rose Bowl.
