Deion Sanders is preparing for his grandad duties! While the 56-year-old head coach initially might have felt a little young for the role, he is now embracing it with open arms (and maybe some marketing ideas!).

His daughter, Deiondra Sanders, is 32 weeks pregnant and recently got engaged to R&B singer Jacquees. The soon-to-be parents expect their baby boy sometime between late August and September. Deiondra even shared a post on Instagram about managing her growing baby bump: “With me being 32 weeks baby boy is getting bigger and heavier!  this @whatwaistofficial Miracle band has been my best friend!”

But it’s not just Deiondra who’s excited. Coach Prime has big plans for his “lil engine,” as he playfully calls him on social media. Under a recent clip Deiondra posted, he jokingly commented, “Get yours baby! The baby Got a NIL ALREADY! Dang Lil Engine ballin already.” Looks like, even before being born, “Baby Que” has struck a NIL deal with What Waist brand. Deiondra found it hilarious, responding with ” 😭😂😭😂I’m literally laughing out loud!! Cmon baby NIL !!”

Let’s face it: the $45 million worth HC is known for his marketing genius. He’s a master at building brands and even brought the 5430 NIL alliance to Boulder to support his Buffaloes athletes. So, why wouldn’t he extend that expertise to his grandson? After all, he’s been hyping the “lil engine” for months! In May, Deiondra revealed that her baby might be tall and have long arms based on anatomy scans. Coach Prime immediately said, “We’ve already signed him up for soccer lesson. We’ve already got him enrolled with some of the best soccer coaches.”

While Deion is clearly pumped for his grandson’s arrival and future potential, he might be overlooking some of Deiondra’s other exciting news: her engagement! 

Deion Sanders stays silent on surprise engagement

Deiondra Sanders had a day to remember on July 14! What started as a pool party baby shower for her soon-to-be-born son, “Baby Que,” took a surprising turn. Her boyfriend, R&B singer Jacquees, had a bigger surprise planned! Amidst the festivities, Jacquees took the mic and poured his heart out with a memories-filled message to Deiondra. Then, in a heartwarming moment, he got down on one knee and popped the question! Deiondra’s mom couldn’t hold back her excitement, posting the engagement photos online. “I feel good,” she said, “It’s a beautiful thing.” She even revealed she kept the engagement a secret from everyone, including Deiondra! However, her brothers, Deion Sanders Jr. and Shilo Sanders, graced the occasion. 

But there was one notable absentee: Deion Sanders himself. He wasn’t spotted at the celebration and hasn’t publicly commented on his daughter’s engagement. Two days later, Deiondra shared photos of the baby shower and engagement, calling it a “perfect day for our perfect baby boy.” Coach Prime finally chimed in, commenting, “My baby gon get HERS!!! Proud Dad,” but remained silent about the engagement.

Deion seems to be focused on “Baby Que” rather than a new “Daddy Que” for Deiondra.
