Mike Leach, one of the greatest college coaches of all time, tragically passed away last Monday after having complications in his heart. After his death, many coaches and players from the NFL and NCAA divisions paid tribute to the great man. Certainly, he left a massive void among the players and coaches in the football world.

In a previous interview, he talked about his legacy after death, which recently resurfaced on the internet, making many fans emotional. They also commented on a post, as they made some interesting demands.

Recently, the official Instagram account of the podcast show ‘Pardon My Take’ posted some words from his old interview, where he talked about his legacy after death. In reply, the legendary coach said, Well, that’s their problem… What do I care, I’m dead.

Notably, the podcast usually declares a name from the NFL world as ‘The Football Guy of The Week.’ After reading those words from Leach, fans started demanding the podcast rename the award. One particular fan wrote, Can we rename the football guy of the week to the Mike Leach football guy of the week?

Another Instagram user commented, Football guy of the year award should be named the “Mike Leach Football Guy of the Year.

Then, many fans called him a legend of the game. Another fan suggested the podcast make some special t-shirts to honor the late coach. A fan wrote, Need y’all to make an Air Raid Guy shirt with a pirate sword on it.

It is worth noting that Leach used the famous air raid offense when he was the head coach of Texas Tech from 2000 to 2009. He practically revolutionized that offensive tactic; later, many coaches started using it during college football and even in NFL as well.

After his sudden demise, Patrick Mahomes, Dak Prescott, the Chiefs‘ head coach Andy Reid, the current Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury, who was coach Leach’s former student, and many others paid tribute to him. Despite his passing, he left a legacy that probably will never be forgotten.
