Shedeur Sanders and his Buffs are making waves in Boulder for all the right reasons. The team’s spring game turned into a multi-day extravaganza from April 25 to April 27. Coach Prime made it bigger than ever, as the Folsom Field was filled with star power.

However, its main intention was to showcase the team’s new players. Deion Sanders wanted to give fans a “good display of talent he’s been building, and it worked great. Deion’s quarterback son, Shedeur Sanders, shined throughout the game, giving some hope for the incoming transfers. He went on to impress the massive crowd along with the team’s revamped offensive line, and here are five takeaways from that.

The Colorado Buffaloes spring game started with rain and cold weather, but that didn’t stop Shedeur Sanders from excelling. His stats prove he can thrive well in a “cold weather team, too. The quarterback threw his first touchdown of the game — a 19-yard pass. The pass found his target in the new wide receiver transfer, LaJohntay Wester.

After that impressive touchdown, Shedeur Sanders kept the momentum going. He finished the game by completing 10 of 14 passes for 116 yards, which is a strong 71% completion rate. Even with that unconventional scoring method, Shedeur’s offense won 29-24 in a close battle with the defense. However, Shedeur’s performance stood out and brought the limelight to the entire revamped Buffs unit.

After a disappointing 4-8 season, Coach Prime knew the offensive line needed a major upgrade. He brought five new transfer players to protect his quarterback son — guards Justin Mayers and Tyler Brown, tackles Kahlil Benson and Jordan Seaton, and center Hank Zilinskas. These players showed promising chemistry during the spring game, working as a cohesive unit to protect Shedeur Sanders by all means. Similar chemistry was also spotted between Shedeur and LaJohntay Wester as they linked up together for a touchdown pass.

Adding to the offense’s strength, the team’s two-way phenom, Travis Hunter, also caught four catches for 27 yards. This impressive showing points to the experience of new offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur. With his years of coaching knowledge, he’s boosted Shedeur’s performance and worked magic with the entire offense. However, the defense under new DC Robert Livingston fought hard against the offense, proving they could be a dependable asset in big games. Now the Buffs look more complete than ever, ready to make a serious run at the championship this season.
