It is a tough time for the Colorado Buffaloes. Deion Sanders’ squad is going through a mass exodus with an exhaustive number of players hitting the transfer portal. However, even amidst difficulty, Coach Prime has shared a word of wisdom for the new players who are about to join hands with the Buffaloes.
Now that the new players will be joining they will be taking up roles as backups. He refuses to make the transfers come as a blow and has already set his sights on the players he will recruit to fill in the gaps.

In a one-on-one interview with Romi Bean, Deion Sanders shared his take on the current scenario now that the spring window of the transfer portal has reached its peak. Explaining what is playing at the back of the minds of the players, Coach Prime stated, “What a lot of people are fighting for right now are backups… I’m just being candid as ever because a lot of starters they’re reluctant to go anywhere else if they’re starting unless they have a disdain for the coach.”
He further reassesses the scenario to explore the present aim of the new signees, “Right now you fighting for the twos…because now when the two leaves now the three is going to be there but you want another two to backup that starter okay that’s what you’re fighting for.” The mass exodus seems to have had a heavy impact on Sanders’ Colorado with up to seven players including Cormani McClain, Jaden Milliner-Jones, Chazz Wallace, and Devee Harris among others diving into the transfer portal. Meanwhile, there are some potential targets whom Coach Prime may rely on.

Prime options for Deion Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes
Some of the names that have been doing rounds to be able to have a breakthrough in Deion Sanders’ program are Kyle Moretti, Darvon Hubbard, Jermayne Lole, and Philip Blidi apart from a few others. Among the top programs, Coach Prime has scouted through the Michigan Wolverines program and Moretti seems to have captured the Buffs HC’s attention. The linebacker shot to the limelight owning All-MAC selections twice as well as recorded 207 tackles (116 solo) during his tenure.

Hubbard led Temple in rushing yards and has gained recognition for his dual-threat ability that helped him to amass eight catches for 95 receiving yards against UTSA. Interestingly, Corey Phillips, Colorado’s director of player personnel follows Hubbard on X, which opens up possibilities of Sanders’ inclination towards him. Other than this, the Arizona Cardinals’ loyal, Lole gained acclamation as an interior pass rusher. Another interest of the Buffaloes is towards landing DL Blidi who played 34 games over three seasons at Texas Tech and received an offer from Colorado on April 14.
Even though, there has been no confirmation from Deion Sanders’ end, as per the reports Coach Prime has sorted out how to find suitable alternatives making full use of the transfer portal. It is now to be seen whether the new recruits will be able to overturn the poor records with which they ended the last season.
