Even at 56, Deion Sanders shows us what true grit looks like. What's your take?

Now see, Coach Prime has earned a reputation for many things. His marketing ability, his stylish Blenders eyewear, and the fact that all 3 of his sons are well settled and doing amazing in their own respective fields. Deion Sanders definitely has managed to carve his own name in the college football world.

However, there is one quality that the coach has that every fan respects. Deion Sanders’ love for safety and precautions. And on July 4th, fans were reminded of Deion’s precautionary methods yet again through a post on X. E. Dewey Smith captured quite a funny scene for the fans of Buffs HC. The video showcased Sanders having the time of his life jet skiing. However, there was one funny but very important aspect of the video. “He got on 2 life jackets,” is what Dewey exclaimed when he noticed that Deion Sanders was riding on with two life jackets. Sanders has been heavily focused on personal safety for quite some time now. Especially after his recent health issues, which include multiple surgeries and the amputation of two toes because of severe blood clots.

Furthermore, one more fun incident that brought out this precautionary side of Deion Sanders was when an old video of Warren Sapp bringing out his Florida adventure side with a snake around his neck became viral. “Will somebody tell @warrensapp we need him this season and we can’t risk a snakebite,” Sanders said on his Instagram, regarding Sapp’s daring adventuring and asking him to be a bit careful. This side of Coach Prime is also visible when it comes to his team and his players.

Safety all the way for Coach Prime

Back in September 2023, when Tavis Hunter was affected with a lacerated liver injury, he put in a plea to return early to the game. “No. You ain’t ready and I care more about you than I care about this game,” was what Deion said, firmly declining Hunter’s request and showing the fans how the health of his player meant more to him than just matches and performance.

One more notable example is Sanders’ effort to strengthen Colorado’s offensive line to better protect his quarterback son, Shedeur Sanders. After Shedeur suffered a back fracture from being sacked 52 times last season, Deion took significant steps to bolster the team’s offensive front. He recruited several high-profile linemen through the transfer portal to ensure better protection for his son and other players. “He’s eight times better,” Deion commented on Shedeur’s recovery, emphasizing the importance of adequate protection to prevent such injuries in the future.

As Buffs prepare for a new season and some new games, it is for sure that Coach Prime will ensure his players remain in the best shape and away from harm’s way.
