The tables have turned for Shilo Sanders.
Once the long-time “favorite son” of Deion Sanders, Shilo is now in trouble. And this has affected the order in which Coach Prime ranks his sons. But what caused the rankings to change?
This offseason, Shilo has seen lots of action, which started with a glittering Paris fashion show in January. He then went on to land himself a role in an episode of Black Mafia Family impersonating a younger Deion Sanders. With his plethora of talents and mature outlook, it’s not surprising that the middle son of Coach Prime usually held the top spot in their father’s rankings.

In a throwback video uploaded by Shilo Sanders in 2023, Coach Prime was asked who was his favorite son. He shone the spotlight on his safety son, saying, “Shilo has had a good month. Uncharacteristically, he’s had a good month.” But recent incidents have changed a lot, including Deion Sanders’ perspective of Shilo Sanders.
Deion Sanders is shocked at how his ranking for his kids has changed
As the world celebrated Father’s Day, Deion Sanders posted a series of reels from 2016 to ’18, which he filmed with his growing sons. But as he reminisced about the old days, something struck him as he took to the comments to hilariously post, “These kids rankings have taken a heck of a turn. WOW!” But it looks like the tables are turning for Shilo Sanders after his recent complications with the law as he filed for bankruptcy.

Back in 2015, the son of Deion Sanders, who was once a favorite, made a regrettable error by allegedly assaulting security guard John Darjean, causing permanent injuries. When Shilo wasn’t present for the trial, Darjean got a $11.89 million award by default. Following this, The Athletic’s Christopher Kamrani cited that in Sanders’ bankruptcy statement, the Buffs safety said he made a gross income of $193,713 in 2023 along with the asset in a $75,900 2023 Mercedes GLE.

Objecting to Shilo Sanders’ bankruptcy statement, John Darjean argued that the Buffs safety’s earnings are higher than what was entered in the filing. According to what USA Today‘s Brent Schrotenboer reported, Judge Michael Romero found the complaint compelling. He said in his ruling, “The Complaint contains sufficient allegations that Sanders’s companies function as his alter egos and that the corporate veils of the LLCs should be pierced.”
In the meantime, Darjean now bears the pressure to “demonstrate all necessary factors at trial.” He will have until June 27 to deliver an amended complaint to the court. Looking at the situation now, the odds seem to be against Shilo Sanders’ favor. Will he be able to squirm out of this and reclaim his position as Coach Prime’s No. 1 son?
