Looking back into the 2023 regular college football season, Deion Sanders made his mark in Boulder in his first year as the HC by turning the program around in the economic and social aspects. Coach Prime’s positivity is like a magnet that has drawn in several new players for the 2024 season. In a recent Twitter post, the Buffs HC spoke about the power of social media and how it can expose the nature of a person. He wrote, “They also don’t realize when they comment it unmask them & the whole social universe gets to see them expose themselves.“

Coach Prime was already a brand in himself even before stepping into Boulder. But leading the Buffs into a season of highs and lows gave him a consistent spotlight. Through it all, he managed to stay patient and optimistic by giving hope to his fans through his motivational posts and statements. It’s not surprising how his hype this season led Colorado to rank among the top in the transfer portal ranking.

Colorado ranks among the top in transfer portal rankings
It is through social media that Coach Prime was able to achieve his current level of popularity which allowed him to entice players to Colorado. With 18 commits, the program now ranks No. 2 on 247 Sports transfer rankings, behind Ole Miss with 12 commits. Out of these 18 commits, seven of them are defensive players, including 4-star DLs, Quency Wiggins and Samuel Okunlola.

Colorado bagged six 4-star transfers and 11 3-star transfers, but they still trail behind Ole Miss by 10.52 points. But this is not the first time Colorado dominated the transfer portal. In 2023, the Buffs ranked on the top nationally with 52 transfer portal commitments, a testament to Coach Prime’s powerful leadership.
