Since the Baltimore Ravens established from the Browns, their mightiest rivals are the Pittsburgh Steelers. Although, the saga is about to change, thanks to the new head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers. Since Jim Harbaugh took over the head coaching duties of the Chargers, his bullseye target was the Lombardi Trophy. He affirmed the same in his introductory press conference as the Chargers’ head coach, with a strong “hunger to win multiple championships.”

The origins of this innate desire lie in Harbaugh’s history with the NFL. It was in 2011 that Jim Harbaugh joined hands with the San Francisco 49ers as their head coach. Since then, the two brothers clashed directly in the Super Bowl as head coaches, where the Ravens won their last Super Bowl thus far. 2 years after that loss, Jim Harbaugh left the NFL, which many assumed was for good. However, the Lombardi flame within him lured him right back.

Because of the 2012 Super Bowl past that the Harbaugh brothers share, Jim Harbaugh can redefine the history by being the top rivals of the Baltimore Ravens. For that to happen, the Chargers’ head coach already has a definitive plan, which he revealed in the Pat McAfee show. As a head coach, Jim is equipped with a solid mindset to gain the upper hand against them. “You know you got to be at your absolute best. You know it’s his team. His team is going to be tougher and a heck to be, and so it pulls it out,” said he.

However, Jim Harbaugh knows that his rivals are tough competitors, but it will just ‘pull the best of the competition out of him’. “I mean they take one of the toughest competitors in every way. You know the great guy John Harbaugh. I know the edge, I know just the sheer will. And it just pulls it out of you,” confessed Jim Harbaugh, knowing his brother all too well. Safe to say, the records will surely be settled and Harbaugh might also get a shot at the Lombardi Trophy, just a little differently than it was 11 years ago.

Chargers and Ravens are in the same conference

Till Jim Harbaugh is the head coach of the Chargers, he won’t have to face his brother in the Super Bowl. Chargers and Ravens, both belong to the AFC, hence, a faceoff between them would either be in the regular season, as So-Fi is expected to host Ravens sometime, or in the AFC Championship.

Hence, the NFL semi-finals would be where Jim Harbaugh would possibly be settling his old SB record with his brother, or adding another loss against him on his table. Whatever might be the outcome, it would be one game that fans would anticipate the most.
