Colorado, a place of beauty and rich love, has seen the Buffs roster undergo significant changes since the arrival of Deion Sanders. Despite over 40 players hitting the transfer portal, the team’s resilience shines through, sparking various speculations and opinions by critics. Of course, these departures didn’t come without drama. Players who chose to leave didn’t always do so silently, often taking jabs at Coach Prime himself. Amidst the departures, it’s important to note the loyalty of some Buffs players, one of whom is Jordan Seaton.
For Jordan Seaton, Colorado is a “brotherhood” unlike any other
Seaton, a five-star offensive tackle, is the highest-star recruit by Deion Sanders in the 2024 class, who seems to have immediately settled down in Boulder with Shedeur Sanders & Co. In an appearance on Reach The People Media on YouTube, he was asked if the people he surrounds himself with at CU felt like a family. Without hesitating, Seaton replied, “Yes, y’all feel like family to me.” As for that same feeling in the Colorado Buffaloes football program, he added, “Yes, it’s like a brotherhood. It’s a family environment.”

“All the sisters on the staff are like aunties to us. All the coaches are like our uncles. you can mess with them one day, but you hate them another,” the offensive tackle added. In the wake of all this hate the program has been getting in the aftermath of comments made by Cormani McClain, Xavier Smith, and Gavin Kuld, they couldn’t help but ask Seaton if any other program matches up to the love shown in this “family environment.” All the five-star recruit could say was, “They’re not. Everything’s fake. I’ve been recruited. I know what it’s like. It’s fake. This is the real deal right here.”
Players like Travis Hunter and the Sanders brothers (among others), who have experienced the true essence of Colorado, stand as proof of the positive aspects of the program, as exemplified by Jordan Seaton. However, there’s no denying that the comments made by McClain and Kuld made many people second guess if the happy environment documented on the Sanders brothers’ YouTube channel – or in the media, in general – was actually what it was in reality.
When Cormani McClain entered the portal about a month ago, he said, “I feel like I just don’t want to play for clicks. I actually want to be involved with a great leading program that’s going to develop players.” With the heightened media attention that came along with Deion Sanders when he joined Colorado, the former five-star recruit didn’t appreciate all the cameras around him and the team capturing everything they did. As for Gavin Kuld, that’s a much newer story.
It started with a now-private interview on YouTube where the quarterback took shots not only at Deion Sanders but also his son, Shedeur. Basin his arguments on the two games he played for the Buffaloes as the quarterback in 2023, Kuld said about Shedeur, “I don’t know if it was the bad blood we had last year ’cause we had something individual going on and I called him out on it inside of our own room. He got real defensive with me in that conversation.” He also commented on the environment in the program.
“The second I came in, [Coach Prime] told the coaching staff that I would never have the chance to be the backup quarterback. Then he would never coach me,” Kuld confessed. “I sat there and watched him talk to the other four quarterbacks all spring, you know, ‘What would you be doing in this play? What are you reading here?’ And he was completely mute to me.” This sentiment was similar to something former Buff Xavier Smith said to The Athletic a month ago.
When Deion Sanders came to Boulder, his first conversation with the Buffaloes included telling many of them to enter the transfer portal. Smith was one of them. He revealed, “[Sanders] said he felt like I should hit the portal. He didn’t want me to waste a year thinking I could earn a spot.” Besides saying he was “destroying guys’ confidence and belief in themselves,” Smith added that Coach Prime “never even tried to get to know me.” However, Jordan Seaton’s claims go against this idea, and as he revealed, Colorado truly is a family that recently added another set of siblings to its brotherhood.

Colorado holds the FBS record for the most sets of brothers
No other programs can really beat Colorado when it comes to family bonds and connections. While Shedeur Sanders and Shilo Sanders are the prominent brothers in the team, they’re far from the only set of siblings. The Buffs have six impressive sets of brothers on their team.

Aside from the Sanders brothers, Colorado also has CB Kole Mathis and WR Kaleb Mathis, LB Jaylen Wester and WR LaJohntay Wester, LB Keaten Wade and QB Destin Wade, DLs Chidozie Nwankwo and Chijioke Nwankwo, and CB Colton Hood and RB Brandon Hood. Not just that, another Hood – LB Trent Hood – also came to Boulder shortly after his cousins joined Coach Prime.
With more recruits joining the fray and former players speaking up, this narrative is bound to continue. But if Jordan Seaton’s comments are anything to go by, Colorado is still a warm place known for family ties and genuine love.
