Can Deion Sanders prove the ESPN experts wrong, or is he in for a rude awakening?

And the real competition begins for Colorado. For months, all the glitz and glamor has led the Buffs Nation to believe that Deion Sanders and Co. are getting better from their last season’s 4-8 performance. Now, 29th August will be their real test. For better or for worse, Colorado’s season-opening game is against a formidable underdog North Dakota State. Boy, will it be a game to see!

If there is one sure thing about the team, it’s that they can play good football. Not to mention the burning passion they will carry to win the game after they have aced their last 14 seasons. Right from 2011, the Bison have been breaking all records, winning a whopping 9 National Championships. Looking at the history of Colorado’s sloppy offense last season which allowed 52 sacks on their QB, ESPN analyst gives his brutal verdict on where Deion Sanders and Co. will have to be the most careful.

“All eyes will be on the trenches in this matchup just because if you look at the strengths and the weaknesses of both programs, North Dakota State historically has been very good on the offensive and defensive lines. Now with Colorado, we know both of those units were at their worst last year. They led the FBS and sack surrendered with 52,” ESPN’s Jordan Reid said on CFB Live, giving his brutally honest opinion. After all this, Shedeur Sanders’s words sound more and more true for NDSU.

Can Deion Sanders and Co. complete Shedeur’s (NCAA) Super Bowl dream?

The CU QB proudly said that this season opener was going to be a ‘Super Bowl-like’ game. Harry Lyles Jr., the CFB live host, confirmed Shedeur’s words, saying, “It is like that for North Dakota State.” The reason, it would be after several years NDSU will get massive viewership, thanks to Colorado fans, just another layer to how important this game is for Colorado to win. ‘A deep-three-pointer game’ as Deion Sanders calls it, would call for the team to play some seriously good football in all 4 quarters.

For this, Reid just had one advice for them. “So they’re going to have to be better in the trenches. They have done a good job of getting guys out of the transfer portal and developing some of the young talent that they have to protect Shedeur Sanders,” said Reid.

Reid’s advice is something that Colorado needs to take seriously and play well in the trenches because that’s where they faltered the most last season. If they can fix it, the clash would be an interesting one to see.
