Deion Sanders might have found a way out of it by calling the preposterous allegation a ‘twisted lie’, but the NFL world is nowhere near sparing him from the claim. Athlon Sports’ Steve Corder released a report in mid-June 2024 claiming that Deion Sanders had ‘made it mandatory’ for the Colorado players to attend the Lil Wayne concert where Shedeur Sanders was performing his new single ‘Perfect Timing’ during the Prime Weekend Spring game concert in April. If not followed, their position at Colorado was ‘under threat’, per the sources of Corder.

The claim alone was enough to spark an outrage among the fans, with analysts and fans alike jumping on the opportunity to criticize Prime. Per a post titled ‘Colorado players quit over Lil Wayne concert: Report’ by Outkick, further building on the argument came Outkick’s Chad Withrow’s, host of ‘Hot Mic w/ Hutton & Withrow’, complaint: It is the epitome of Daddy ball.”

Withrow compared it to Sanders, calling the players to his son’s birthday party. “Be really nice to my kid and do this you better, or you’re not going to get playing time, or I’m going to send you to the transfer portal, like I did all these other players before,” Withrow asserted about Coach Prime. Along with it, the Outkick host also branded this incident as “normal behavior” in Colorado. While all these people are claiming it to be true, the Deion Sanders tribe is putting up an even more dominating fight.

Deion Sanders and Co.’s fiery responses

Right from the day the claims were made, the supporters of Deion Sanders are growing by the day. Deion Sanders was the first one to oppose the accusation of X, writing, “This is one of the best lies I’ve heard.” His son Deion Sanders Jr. promptly followed the suit, branding it as a ‘lie’, defending his father on X, writing, “When the hate don’t work they start telling lies.” His daughter Deiondra posted “A painful truth is far better than a comforting lie,” on her IG story, making their opposition toward the accusation loud and clear.

Later came Shedeur Sanders and the locker room’s confession through a Well Off Media video released on June 18. The surprised Buffs QB made a counterclaim on the allegations, saying, “Dad ain’t even know we going to perform. But I don’t even say anything back bro ‘cause if you knew, they didn’t even know if we was going to perform ‘cause they messed up the lights bro. They couldn’t see who was on stage.”

Well, Jon the Liquidator, a YouTuber who claimed to be present during the concert agreed in unison during his video posted on June 15, said that, ” the players couldn’t even get tickets to the concert because the concert was sold out.” Even though all these claims are in support of Prime, his getting off the hook is still a far possibility.
