Apple TV’s docuseries The Dynasty: New England Patriots is providing football enthusiasts the inside stories from the New England Patriots locker room. In its most recent episode, it unfolded the drama surrounding the arrest of Aaron Hernandez and the fractured bonds in the team.

Even so, Deion Branch was seen remembering his friend Hernandez almost 7 years after the TE’s death. His words were tear-jerking and gave an insight into their friendship.

Branch played with Hernandez for two and a half seasons, and was shocked to hear about the cases against Hernandez in connection to the death of 27-year-old Odin Lloyd. Hernandez was accused of shooting the 25 year old and killing him. He told the Albany Herald, “Aaron is a great guy and a great friend of mine and a great teammate.”

In the latest video, Deion talked about the things he wanted to share with his friend and spoke about them in the video. He said, “When someone is in the core, and you can only judge them by what you see.” He conveyed, “I have some moments where I am like, ‘You should have seen that’s like… Deion you should have seen that.”

He called Hernandez a great friend and he was shocked by his arrest and death which happened 7 years ago. The documentary itself is a heavy one and shows the glory as well as the breaking of bonds between the team members.

Deep diving into Aaron Hernandez’s conviction and subsequent death

The 27-year-old Tight End was the star of the Patriots with a $40 million contract. He was accused of killing Odin Lloyd (boyfriend of Hernandez’s wife’s sister) and on June 26 2013 Hernandez was escorted out of his house by the police. Lloyd’s body had been found six days later near Hernandez’s home. He was also charged later with two precious murders and alleged shootings of three other people in different incidents during his college days. Hernandez was convicted of murdering Lloyd on April 15th, 2015, and received life imprisonment.

However, Hernandez was not found guilty in his double murder trial in Suffolk Superior Court. Unfortunately, even if he had sounded elated and happy to return to football after all this, he was found dead in his jail cell at Souza Baranowski Correctional Center.

His story progressed from a celebrity trial to a revelation of dark pasts buried deep in his closet. Even so, his friend Deion remembered him in a good light and as a friend after 7 years of his death.
