Travis Hunter knows the competition will be cut-throat this time. While the pressure of making the finest season CU has ever seen in its history mounts on him, Travis Hunter has two other pressures to deal with simultaneously: the 2025 NFL draft and the 2024 Heisman Trophy. Touted as one of the finest CFB players and probably the best two-way star in the class, Travis Hunter has set his mind on becoming one of the finest in the 2025 NFL draft class.

Well aware of his value as a player, his being the first prospect for the Heisman milestone goes without saying. Hence, Hunter did not hesitate to put himself first when asked about the Heisman prospects for the 2024 CFB season. “So, we’re thinking early Heisman watch who do you think should be the candidates this year on the stage of New York?” the interviewer asked Hunter in the YouTube video released by him encompassing his day at the shoot of EA Sports College Football 25 standard cover with Quinn Ewers and Donovan Edward.

“Me, Shedeur, Quinn, and Donovan,” Hunter said, summarizing his answer in just 4 words. But the NCAA folks know the influence these four names hold, especially in the 2024 season. Hunter already has an idea of where Shedeur Sanders stands against him as a Heisman competitor.

Now all Hunter had to do was to gauge where his other competitors, the ones with whom he shares the EA Sports cover. Throwing some balls with Ewers and Edwards during their shoot day gave the two-way star the idea of where they stand. Now all of it would boil down to the efforts Hunter puts in for the 2025 NFL draft. Looking at his commitments, however, it seems that Hunter is set to give the NFL Combine 2025 his all.

Travis Hunter sets the bar for NFL Combine

When the topic of the 40-yard dash came into the video, Hunter’s cameraman believed that “If you train, you can get a 4.6.” The two-way star, however, already has set his standard for the 2025 NFL Combine. Hunter was not about to settle at a mere 4.6 as he confidently said, “I need a 4.3 bro.”

In fact, the goal that Travis Hunter has set for himself is just 0.10 seconds away from breaking the fastest 40 records in the books of the NFL Combine, set by none other than his head coach Deion Sanders. If Sanders manages to break that, it would be monumental. Unlocking the speed like Deion Sanders, however, would be a monumental task in itself for Hunter.
