Did Deion Sanders cross the line by snubbing the CBS reporter, or was it justified?

It feels like yesterday when Jason Whitlock called Deion Sanders “insecure”. While Coach Prime has changed the Buffs drastically from 1-11 to a 4-8 season and made it a $280 million program, August 10th showed us a different side of him. The 56-year-old was about to be asked a question by a reporter from CBS Sports, but he declined, saying, “I’m not doing nothing with CBS.” 9News covered Deion’s hostile reaction towards the reporter on X and explained that this was because CBS had termed Deion Sanders as the 2nd worst coach in Big 12 conference. Now, Jason Whitlock took to X to present his perspective of the entire scene.

“Deion Sanders needs help. This isn’t about wins and losses. It’s about a man so fragile, fraudulent, and feminine that he can’t take questions from men who mean him no harm,” Whitlock wrote on X, dragging Coach Prime through the mud by suggesting that his ego is too weak to handle any form of criticism from anyone.

This isn’t even the first time someone has called out Coach Prime. A few weeks back, the SEC analyst Paul Finebaum claimed that Deion Sanders is “irrelevant” and the Buffs “won’t make the playoffs”. However, it was Andy Staples from On3 who perfectly captured the emotion any Buffs or Coach Prime fan could relate to. “Everybody who plays Colorado wants to kick the crap out of Colorado,” Staples mentioned.

There is no doubt about the fact that Deion is a coach under immense scrutiny and often faces criticism. We saw how some media outlets back on August 4th claimed that Sanders was brewing a “crime culture” back in the Buffs. It was reported that the players were getting bullied in the locker room and it was all about guns, fights, and money. Jordan Seaton, Cormani McClain, and even Coach Prime had to come out to deny all of those claims.

Most of the jabs that Deion receives are because of his supposed “arrogance”. However, as Mikey and Chris Fallica mentioned on the LeBatard Show, Deion Sanders has a lot of pressure on him this year, after a poor 2023 season. So the question is, will the Buffs rock the field, or will Jason Whitlock’s “This isn’t leadership. It’s malpractice” jab towards Coach Prime come true?

Have an interesting take?

Shedeur Sanders, Shilo Sanders, and Travis Hunter are all going to go to the NFL next year. So, this year, they’ve got to make it count. Coach Prime is already on it. With 6 new offensive linemen on the team along with a completely changed O-line, Deion is getting the Buffs ready for a solid season. He has even gone on to bring Patt Shurmur to ensure that Shedeur learns how to protect himself on the field.

Not only that, Will Sheppard is now on the team as well. The kid will be the X-receiver and with his speed clocked in at 20MPH he would be the best assist for Shedeur during those big rushes. While Jason Whitlock has called out Deion for being unprofessional and not able to take jabs, Coach Prime is working from the dark to ensure that his boys don’t make the same mistake that they did last year.
