Jayden Daniels’ future seems to be riddled with rumors and speculations amid the much anticipated NFL Draft. The 23-year-old is predicted to be the number 3 QB draft pick after Caleb Williams and Drake Maye and he is most likely to end up with the New England Patriots, despite his alleged climate tantrums.
In this year’s edition of the NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears have the first pick, followed by the Washington Commanders and then the New England Patriots. With Williams probably ending up with the Bears and Maye with the Commanders, it is highly expected that the Patriots will end up picking Daniels. But in a recently surfaced tweet, it looks like Daniels does not want to go to Massachusetts because of its harsh weather, a rumor that Michael Lombardi happily squashed.

On the latest episode of the ‘Pat McAfee Show’, former assistant to the coaching staff of the Patriots, Michael Lombardi joined in to discuss news related to the NFL Draft. One piece of media that caught the eye of McAfee and the hosts was a viral tweet that claimed that people from Jayden Daniels’ camp don’t think that the quarterback should go to the New England Patriots since he might have issues with the drastic climate in Massachusetts.

Michael Lombardi seemingly went on to demolish these claims and said, “I can’t imagine this is true about him. I know he grew up in Arizona, played in Arizona State LSU but come on. You go to a team that has such great history and tradition to it. Just because it’s a little cold, I can’t even begin to fathom that. Why would a player not wanna go to a team especially when you know that the Draft is slaughted by money? It’s all slaughted by money. You can buy handwarmers for the difference between 3 and 8.” Moreover, the senior analyst would want to see Daniels on his former team due to the sort of skills and talents he brings to the table. With all said and done, here’s how Daniels himself responded to these rumors of his future with the Pats.
Jayden Daniels speaks out against the rumors surrounding his name
The New England Patriots is one of the most prestigious teams in the NFL. This is the same team that once housed the 7-time Super Bowl winner, Tom Brady, and the same team that Bill Belichick led for many years. There is no doubt about the fact that the Pats are known for churning out big names in the sport like Rob Gronkowski, Drew Bledsoe, Richard Seymour, etc. So when reports of Daniels not wanting to be picked by them due to their harsh weather came out, it sounded almost absurd and that’s exactly how Daniels feels.

Daniels replied to a now-deleted tweet that talked about his supposed reason and captioned his reply with a single cap emoji, which translates to “cap”, meaning lies. The 2023 Heisman Trophy winner would hopefully be given the responsibility of a starting quarterback under the new coach, Jerod Mayo, who would be trying out his methods in redefining the team’s offense, differently from how Belichick used to do it.
