Colorado Buffs have much to do before finalizing their roster before the signing day on 9th February. Hence, Deion Sanders and Co. are working hard to get as many good players on board as they can. While preparing their team for the 2024 season, the Buffs staff has also taken a step ahead to start planning out the Class of 2025.
The season of 2025 would be daunting, as all the transfer players from Jackson State who became the saviors of the Buffs program would be eligible for NFL drafts. This includes game-changing players like QB Shedeur Sanders and two-way star Travis Hunter, among others. Hence, the Buffs staff has initiated the damage control, and searching for other reliable replacements from this season. Seems that they have some desirable student-athletes under their radar.

Along with Iamaleava, four-star QB TJ Lateef is also being eyed by Colorado as one of the top 7 university picks for the class of 2025. However, Iamaleava’s impressive throws at the all-star passing tournament hosted by the Los Angeles Rams created a major reputation for him among various programs. Other programs like Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, Oregon State, TCU, Tennessee, and Washington have also approached him.

Deion Sanders on the situation
The decision to use up his final year of eligibility was a gift to the Buffs by Shedeur Sanders. Because if Sanders were to leave for the league this season, the Buffs would fall short in their QB position. “Right now, we’re looking for older quarterbacks, because we plan on winning,” emphasized Deion Sanders per USA Today. “So if something were to happen to Shedeur, they could step right in and make it happen. That’s what we’re looking for.”

Hence, the recruits would not only be Colorado’s safety net in 2025, but they also plan on utilizing their talent if the need arises during the 2024 season. Landing these QBs would be a major deal for the Buffs as it would smoothen out their redemption process from the previous season’s 4-8 loss.
