Deion Sanders came in hot as the new HC of Colorado in 2023 and stole the hype and attention of the media with the victories in the first three games. Unsurprisingly, he became the trend and everyone out of nowhere suddenly became a Prime fan, including celebrities who would grace the Buffs’ games with their presence. But things went downhill pretty fast.

The Colorado Buffs didn’t have a remarkable first season to boast of as they fell 4-8 last season. But Coach Prime still boosted himself and his players despite scathing remarks and criticisms. Before, the 2024 season seemed to look hopeful until the spring portal exodus, resulting in Deion Sanders losing 40+ players. And the sad reality is that the ones who wined and dined with Colorado are nowhere to be seen.

DJ Bless One, one of the ardent supporters of Deion Sanders, has taken his social media platform to call out fair-feathered celebrity supporters. In an episode on his YouTube channel IsmokeHiphop Live, he addressed celebrities who had been there behind Coach Prime and who disappeared now that Colorado’s fire is dying down saying, “Stay over there for 2024. We don’t really need you gang. I know Deion can’t say it verbally so I’ll say it for DeionY’all fake…I’ll be his speaking piece ’cause I ride with the coach.”

While he slammed the majority of the celebrities’ fake support, DJ Bless One also said, “Every good university needs celebrities to support them. I’m not going to be fake so I’m not saying we don’t need celebrities. What I’m trying to tell you is we don’t need the fake ones.”

After Oregon Dan Lanning’s “playing for clicks” statement and Cormani McClain’s “play for clicks” dig on Colorado, Deion Sanders has taken it upon himself and the program to extend the social and public reach of Colorado football.

He recently landed in Los Angeles with Deion Sanders Jr. whose YouTube channel Well Off Media is on the route to 1M subscribers. “Content, content, content… Make sure you subscribe to this channel because we’re on a mission to get him a million subscribers before the season.” During the LA visit, Coach Prime, along with Junior, also had the chance to meet up with rap legend Snoop Dogg in the studio.

Deion Sanders has a celebrity supporter in Snoop Dogg

Amidst Coach Prime’s hard times when he was criticized for not retaining players or targeting style over substance, Snoop Dogg hasn’t remained in the shadows like most other celebrities who were there last season. He recently reminded the people, “Y’all only talk that mess about Prime because he’s not in his Prime. But he’s always Prime, and that’s what y’all don’t understand. It’s all the time Prime and he can outrun every last one of you all.

Putting expectations aside, Deion Sanders has a big season ahead in 2024 as the Buffs return to the Big 12 after 14 years of being in the Pac-12. He still has Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter, Shilo Sanders, and some elite commits on the roster sparking hope for Colorado fans field-wise.

This season will kick off with a game against the dominant North Dakota State Bisons on August 29 at Folsom Field, followed by a face-off with the Nebraska Cornhuskers on September 7. But right now, would Snoop Dogg use his massive social platform to help his buddy in need and promote his son’s YouTube channel to help them achieve their goals?
