Woo-hoo! Deion Sanders and Travis Hunter are back at fishing. Whenever they pick up their fishing poles, something entertaining unfolds. This time was no exception as the debate went about who caught the biggest fish. The Buffs’ two-way phenom refused to give up, showing off his “biggest” flex. Instead, he teased Coach Prime. But wait! Deion is not ready to wave the white flag and comes up with an interesting response.

Although the two have a lighthearted rivalry regarding fishing, it does not stop Hunter from coming up with a special fishing gift for his coach. Can Deion count on Hunter to work in a fishing team?

Earlier, while fishing with his friend, Hunter flexed his talent by throwing an open challenge: “Coach Prime wants no smoke with us.” Deion took up the challenge and cultivated his new hobby. It did not take the Buffs head coach much time to turn “pro.” So much so that the only place he is spotted nowadays, besides the practice sessions, is by Lake Prime or Lake Time. On June 30, he posted one such clip from his fishing stints with friends on Instagram and wrote, “Y’all call it fishing we call it catching! You know we gotta compete & HAVE FUN with everything we do. I got a boat and a trailer NOW that I can’t wait to Pull Up on y’all!” Hunter could not just let go of the prime opportunity to pull a teasing jab at his coach, “I still have the biggest fish out of there remember that.”

But Deion, in no way, will come to terms with failure. He abandoned the discussion on Instagram itself, replying to Hunter: “I don’t know if that’s true.” His attempt to prove himself better at fishing is just a tease, as he, too, wants Deion to have a good time catching the fish. The dual threat gifted him two fishing rods out of his love for Coach Prime.

Hunter generously provided Deion Sanders with premium gifts for a hassle-free fishing adventure

Deion hardly expected this surprise gift from his fishing rival, Hunter. The Buffs’ thoughtfulness flattered the coach. Since Hunter knew that regular fishing rods get tangled, he gifted Coach Prime, who was new to fishing, some expensive fishing gear. Having a penchant for all things premium, the present did pass the quality check as the impressed Buffs HC came up with a stamp of approval. “I ain’t going to have to tell it. I’m sure one thing but his [Hunter’s] stuff it ain’t cheap. None of his stuff is cheap.”

Even though they are playfully engaged in a fight on Instagram about who caught the biggest fortune, Hunter is the first one Sanders counts on when he encounters a fishing challenge. It came from Ontario QB Daniel Mielke II. He threw an open contest to the Buffs HC and Hunter to go on a fishing soiree on X, “Slayin trout today!  @DeionSanders and @TravisHunterJr doesn’t have anything on us.” Instead of getting scared by the fishing challenge, Deion showcased his faith in his camaraderie with Hunter and said in a reply (which was later deleted), “Keep ya trying.”

Hence, now that Deion and the two-way phenom have taken part in a “who’s-better-at-fishing” contest, all of it is an eyewash. It’s their way of having fun and bettering their hobby so that if the situation demands, they, as a team, can demolish their opponents.
