“Don’t Get No Shoes”: Coach Prime Instills Sack Motivation to Boost Colorado’s Defensive Prowess in Spring Games

Deion Sanders has laid his watchful eyes on the Buffaloes squad as they warm up for the upcoming spring season. With the mission of changing the disheartening end to the last season, Coach Prime now takes charge to move past the disappointing past. While most coaches do the whole 9-yards, starting with arousing speeches, Sanders has a little something different in mind. 

Sanders has introduced a game-changing ultimatum for the Buffs squad. To ensure that the Colorado fans too have the best of times during the Spring Games, he has curated a packed-up plan.   

Deion Sanders’ unique approach to spark fervor

Deion Sanders takes an unconventional route to boost the Colorado’s defensive prowess. As seen in the video posted by the YouTube channel, “Reach The People Media”, coach Prime gives a vocal tonic to the players. Addressing the players, the coach said, “I’m call you know what I’m calling the sacks. If you don’t get no sacks you don’t get no shoes”.

Delving into the holistic responsibility of each player, Buffaloes’ head coach further insisted, “You don’t get no blocks you don’t protect too you don’t get no shoes.” Tying the essential elements of the game such as blocking and protection, the head coach highlighted the contribution of every player to the overall success of the team. Now as the players take on the field with a “sack or shoeless” mantra echoing in their minds, the hope is it will propel them to excel in specific areas. Meanwhile, apart from hyping up the players’ roster, Sanders is also set to turn Colorado’s 2024 spring game into an unforgettable spectacle.   

Coach Prime striving for redemption 

After a challenging debut season with a 4-8 record (1-8 Pac-12), Deion Sanders is determined to change the Buffaloes’ football narrative for the better. Along with it, the ‘Prime Weekend’, an extravaganza spanning over several days will be the melting pot for football and entertainment. Sanders decoded the entire plan as he appeared on Lil Wayne’s Apple Music show, ‘Young Money Radio’.

As per the plan, Coach Prime revealed, “We have a fashion show (on) Thursday. Something for the boosters on Friday and the game on Saturday… I’m gonna cover everybody, and being after the game, we’re doing something with the alumni.” However, he did not disclose everything, keeping a touch of secret about the half-time performance. 

As far as the details of the game are concerned, the transfer portal window that will be opening between April 15 and April 30 will be a crucial period paving the path for the Buffs’ success. With the “sack or shoeless” motto in play, it shines the light on Coach Prime as a leader who goes beyond the conventional playbook. Using the Prime Weekend as a platform to showcase the Buffs’ prowess, Deion Sanders refuses to lose the opportunity to engage with fans fostering a sense of unity on 2024 Black & Gold Day at Folsom Field.
