The NFL will never have another Deion Sanders and almost everyone has accepted the fact, other than Shedeur Sanders. It was in 1989 that Deion Sanders shattered the confines of the NFL Combine week while running the 40-yard dash. The crowd was already impressed when Sanders completed his first run in 4.4 seconds but Sanders was yet to leave his signature Prime mark there. He simply started running for his second trial, completed the 40-yard dash in a record-breaking 4.2 seconds, continued running, waved at everyone, and left the stadium.
What Deion Sanders did so candidly at the Marriott Marquis stadium in New York City put his name as one of the fastest 40-yard dashes in the history of the NFL. Throughout the years, hardly anyone claimed to eclipse the records of Prime Time, other than his son, Shedeur. Fast forward about 45 years, the Colorado QB made a gusty claim stating he “runs along with Coach Prime.” Shedeur Sanders believes that he would surpass Prime’s scores with his hard work.

A Colorado staffer had his feet planted on the ground and could simply see through the claim Shedeur Sanders made. It was quite impossible for Shedeur to achieve in about a year. “All I’m going to say is don’t be delusional,” the staffer took a direct yet friendly jibe at Shedeur Sanders, snapping him back into reality. “I respect your work ethic and everything you do, but that was just delusional. You got to keep the real in you,” the staffer stated.
Shedeur Sanders’ words make the hold the NFL draft 2025 has on Shedeur Sanders clear as day. The final countdown for him has ticked, with just a year remaining for him to join the big boys in the NFL. And despite a whole season yet to unfold for the Buffs, Deion Sanders and Shedeur Sanders have already started thinking big for the 2025 NFL.

Per Prime, Shedeur would have to pull an “Eli Manning” in the 2025 NFL draft. This means that Sheudeur Sanders would not agree to join certain cities and would only stick to the ones he prefers. His father’s top pick is the team he crafted his legacy with the Dallas Cowboys. Would Shedeur Sanders hold fast to the guidelines his father had laid out for him, or would he choose his trail to travel? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
