Another day, another player transferred out of CU, another message by Deion Sanders. Continuing the hot streak of players opting out of Colorado in the Spring transfer portal came Deuce Roberson’s announcement on Friday, May 10. With about 3 years of eligibility remaining, Roberson decided to ditch the widespread trend of divulging, or rather alleging, everything bad about Deion Sanders as a head coach, pioneered by Cormani McClain. Instead, the WR only had heartfelt gratitude for Sanders.

“Thank you @DeionSanders for the constant encouragement in our conversations and the opportunity you gave. Much Love,” Roberson wrote on his X. Upon hearing such words, Prime let down the sour attitude he had picked up from the transfers trolling him to say sweet words for Roberson. “Love ya my man and whomever you commit to will be getting a good young man that wants to prove to everybody he’s more than deserving! God bless u my man,” Deion Sanders wrote on X, lauding the ex-Buffs player.

Fans, however, didn’t take long to question the genuineness of Prime’s words. With all the not-so-minced tough words he had replied to his detractors. Fans instantly remembered his “Lwad Jesus,” comment, which was intended to be a sarcastic comment on former Buffs’ players’ post on X.

They were pretty sure that it was all a guise for damage control. The majority of fans seemed to settle in for the latter. “Bro’s doing damage control like he’s Drake,” a user wrote, making good use of his top-notch sense of humor. Most of the fans seemed cemented on Deion Sanders’ message as a cover for his previous texts.

Fans are positive that Deion Sanders ‘Does not care’

Years of caring tweets from Prime could not convince the fans that Deion Sanders did not care about the players after they entered the transfer portal. However, his recent tweets were enough to convince them of the opposite.

“Too late. No one believes you care about these kids. You said you were getting rid of players like ‘old furniture’.” a fan wrote about Sanders, referring to one of Prime’s previous messages. “If them allegations are true he most certainly is not a good man,” wrote another fan, stating that all those tweets and messages have put Sanders’ reputation at stake.

While some fans sensitively filtered their words, other fans showed no censor while straight up calling out Sanders. “You already exposed the real you dawg. This damage control sh*t ain’t fooling nobody with a brain,” another fan wrote on X.

Others believed that it was a PR stunt by Sanders’s team to restore Prime’s reputation. “Yo PR team finally got ahold of you I see,” a fan revealed on X. So which side do you pick? The one that Sanders is presenting now, or the one he unveiled earlier?
