This year’s NFL Draft saw the selection of several promising QB prospects, such as Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, and Drake Maye, who have already made significant contributions to their respective teams. Looking ahead to the 2025 NFL Draft, one name that is gaining traction is Colorado Buffaloes QB Shedeur Sanders, who is being touted as one of the top prospects.
Deion Sanders isn’t the only one who sees his son as a projected first pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. ESPN’s Matt Miller also projected Shedeur Sanders as one of the top three QBs in the 2025 Draft. Not only that, but CBSSports’ Ryan Wilson also wrote, “Shedeur Sanders made huge strides in his first year as an FBS QB, and he’ll be in the conversation with several other players to be the first quarterback drafted.” And now, another person has come forward to endorse his talent.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz recently wrote a report about his interview with an anonymous personnel director on the prospect of Colorado’s QB Shedeur Sanders entering the 2025 NFL Draft. And this is what the pro personnel director said about Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter: “Oh, I think there’s a shot they both top five. Shedeur’s special man. I don’t think he gets enough credit for how natural a thrower he is and how strong his arm is.”
Because it’s never too early to think about the 2025 NFL Draft, I asked a pro personnel director about Colorado’s pair of superstars, Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter:

Even before Shedeur Sanders arrived in Colorado with Coach Prime, he was already an exceptional QB at Jackson State, throwing for 6,983 yards and 70 touchdowns in 26 games. In his first season in Boulder, the Buffs’ record went down 4-8, but he still managed to climb above the average by throwing the program record of 3,230 yards and 27 touchdowns in 11 games. So, looking at QB talent, he’s high on the list of entering next year’s draft as the top QB. And he’s not the only Colorado player with a promising future in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Shedeur Sanders is a projected top QB in the 2025 draft class. However, the personal director also has a bright message for Colorado’s two-way star, Travis Hunter, whom he describes as a “freak.” He added, “He’s extremely instinctive as a DB, he’s twitchy with the ball in his hands. He’ll be a major weapon with the new kickoff rules.”
Travis Hunter had a stellar debut season at Colorado, earning the prestigious Paul Hornung Award for his versatility. His offensive prowess was evident with 57 passes for 721 yards and five touchdowns, while his defensive skills shone through with 31 tackles, three interceptions, and five pass breakups. Whether he continues to excel on offense, defense, or both in the NFL, his future looks incredibly promising.
